Oh Jeff entries complete
Please check your entry has been included

What an astonishing response to a Vocal microfiction challenge. Write any length up to 1000 words of brief prose or poetry on the theme of the Lichtenstein painting: Oh Jeff, I love you.
The entries, listed below, all 56 of them, bear witness to the creativity, originality, and inventiveness of Vocal Media creators. They also demonstrate the power of art to capture the imagination. One simple, cartoon-strip character portrayal, with a seven-letter speech bubble, is all that was needed to inspire authors to write the story that is almost told in the Lichtenstein painting.
All about: the Oh Jeff flash fiction challenge
A shortlist of entries will be drawn up from the stories below. Please check the list to ensure that your entry has been included and to report any typographical or other errors in comments.
Please let me know if you would like to nominate any of the following for the shortlist... up to three. You may suggest any of your own stories you are particularly proud of but do please include other creators' work too.
My first attempt at shortlisting resulted in only 27 being cut. It was painful enough, losing those entries all of which were brilliant and original. How am I now going to further whittle down the remaining: 31 entries?
31 entries still to be short listed

Was a lot of Fun Ray, and you are correct there wasn't one entry I did not like. a perfect December relief Thanks again for hosting
Such a fun challenge, Raymond!
Thanks for setting up such a great challenge. I notice that I cocked up entering another couple of pieces inspired by the same idea (my fault, not yours). Never mind, I had fun writing them (and netted an unexpected TS along the way). Best of luck sifting out the final shortlist!
Fabulous challenge… thanks Raymond. 👍🏼 I don’t envy your task😵💫😳🤣 My 3 favourites are: #14: Komal: eating the leftovers in the fridge #24: D.J. Redialling: One new voicemail (a million faults) #42: Andy Potts: Getting the Bird (Partridge in the Pear Tree”)😃… Although I do have another ten that I really like…🙃
Top 3 - JBaz texting drunk, Lamar Wiggins Shady Acres & Paul Stewart Ford Fucking Cortina. Who’s with me?
I had submitted a third entry but I may have missed the deadline...
It seems a picture is worth a thousand words, at the least! It was a fun and clever prompt. No matter who wins, we were all the better for the exercise!
This was really one of the most enjoyable prompts. I just had fun with it, I had more but. Jeff was so bad, good and awful, I just watched him enjoying himself. We all won just by having fun. Bravo jeff...I mean Raymond.
I think this challenge is by far the most popular one among unofficial challenges! Way to go, Ray! I can't wait for the results hehehehehe
lol...oh dear! I did feel bad for you with this for about 10 seconds... my entries were some of the most enjoyable pieces I've written all year! well done on an amazing challenge! I blame my pal John for constantly inspiring me to take gradually more and more leftfield approaches hah!
Do your best...and do you accept bribes? 💰
This was a fun challenge and will try to be patient for results to come.
A great Challenge. RAYMOND!!! CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNERS
