The Rooms Lost in the White House East Wing Demolition
East Wing Entrance — Established in 1902 as part of the original East Terrace; used for public access since 1942. During World War II (1942–1945), the Visitor's Entrance facilitated discreet wartime briefings. In 1962, it welcomed dignitaries like Empress Farah of Iran for tours led by Jacqueline Kennedy.
