The Woman in the Mirror

My last entry

By John CoxPublished about a year ago 1 min read

"Oh Jeff...I love you too...but," her voice trailing off to silence. How many times had she tried to tell him she has needs too, but he can never rise above his own.

When she rehearsed it earlier, the words came so easily to mind. But not when she needed them, while he blustered and barked. Not when his fragile ego exposed his low self-regard.

"I'm sorry...Jeff, that's not what I meant. It's just that I...."

But he interrupts, her words failing again. She is slow to realize that he never lets her finish a thought.

"Goodbye," she whispers, giving up.

What a glorious yet sad drabble ending to your contributions to the challenge. All ending in misunderstanding. Many thanks for your support. Apologies for the delay commenting. Still catching up.
