sleepy drafts' Laughterhouse 8 is a beautifully dystopian tale. The evocative sensory details caught our attention right away. The cost of awareness reveals that the truth is as much a curse as it is a revelation.
Now it's your turn. Share your favorite stories in the comments below.

Hi there. I’m removed from an earlier ‘Raise Your Voice.’ Living in Brisbane, Australia we have a different date format. DD/MM/YYYY. My name is Pauline and from my Bio: ‘Writing and photography provide a creative outlet to reflect with meaning on my life. My mental health? Bipolar 1 (Rapid Cycling), Complex PTSD and Functional Neurological Disorder. My son’s gentle wisdom furnishes me with the gift of hope.’ * As a new Subscriber I’d like to Champion 2 writers. * Cindy Calder JBaz * For validity I’ll also add my comments to page. * Cindy Calder https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/symphonic#comment-01121126-5151-4f4d-85a6-8c639652cede%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Hi Cindy, I have had to re read, then read out loud (for me to truely appreciate poetry I have to ‘hear it’ - the flow, imagery, emotion, cadence etc.) I’m trying to best describe the profound impact on me. I hope this is enough. Your poem is a sublime gift to the Vocal+ community. Thank you for writing. With sincere gratitude. Pauline 🌸 * JBaz https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/evanesce%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Hey. Already Subscribed, hearted and I wanted to take some time for re reads to fully appreciate. ‘Ah now I’m here JBaz via Author of the Day in Vocal+ Assist - so to ‘Jason Basaraba!’ - Rick and the crew had me on a search. And I am thankful that we have already recently met and have begun to reciprocal read. Of course congratulations on the TS and Runner up! Most worthy! This is an intensely moving piece ‘through the ages.’ Reflective, the ‘forevermore,’ demise, a pleading and lament. A poem of superb imagination and insight. Pauline 🌸’
https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/sunset-season%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Another one from sleepy drafts because I am in awe of how it was able to make me so speechless, it has original metaphoric sentiments and it paints a loving image. This one by Heather for the way she describes the human struggles with such conviction https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/the-waiting-c983k0gdm%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E This one by Shirley for the strength she displays and the kindness of her spirit https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/it-s-just-not-fun%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E And for me. I write poems and short fiction. I am a little on the darker side, but every now and again you will see the sun. I like to support others as well, I want to read your work and learn from you, and hopefully my comments when they pop up, will help motivate you to write more. I also like this one by Antoni https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/rhythms-a47dh0t0y%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E for the good vibes it brings me and for adding colour to my day This one by Darla for the empathy she displays towards her sister, who has lost her husband. It tugged at my heart strings, many lines that spoke volumes about their healthy marriage https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/nine-months-have-passed%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E ~Angela ~It was between newness now and therapy, but I went for therapy because it had tips that I think would be helpful to others https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/therapy-ze7pw0uj7%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E By J.L Green https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/dead-does-not-mean-done%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E It simply made me speechless
Aloha, hola, ciao and guten morgan, I am late to the party and still licking my writer ego wounds (joke maybe?) I write stuff. Judging by my profile, mainly poetry, some fiction, a lot of horror, some satire and then some real journal-style things. But...you already knew that and if not, why not? So some I picked out - Dharr's very sobering, honest, brutal, personal poem for the Sensational II is essential and a testimony to her own strength and her amazing support network. - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/catharsis-sk6q20tut%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Joe O'Conner always has this ability to make you think and feel and his latest poem, an entry for Sensational II, Chagrin is sublime - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/chagrin%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Morgana Miller came back from silence to deliver a truly sensational Sensational II challenge entry in Ruptured - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/ruptured%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Kristen is always awesome and inspiring and this piece is nothing short of both, k'-E-le-ok - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/k-e-le-ok%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E John Cox deserves highlighting for his ongoing Play in Four Acts - The Death of a Queen. The latest part can be found here - https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/the-death-of-the-queen-act-ii-scene-iii%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E While the first part can be found here if you need to catch up - https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/the-death-of-the-queen-act-i-scene-i%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Thank you, for your attention. Read these and Vocal give some of these Top Stories.
I'm so late to this party. I was struggling with a migraine yesterday and it's basically a miracle I posted at all 😀 I'm writing a story every day this year. I'm behind on reads at the moment, but this one from Cody about goals really resonated: https://shopping-feedback.today/psyche/a-goal-s-purpose%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
I’m Natalie. I spend most of my time in Poetry and Fiction with an occasional foray into Wander and Art. I’m always interested to see what Mackenzie Davis has cooked up and this story is no exception. It keeps you wandering around slightly disoriented until the end. https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/cradle-is-the-waves%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

I'm Rachel and I write. A lot. I also read but not as much as I would like. I've just read this by Penny Fuller which is just sublime poetry: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/kindling-6464r0ryx%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Joe O'Connor's work is always worth a read and this poem, well, I defy you not to recognise squirmy moments from your own existence in his words: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/chagrin%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E And finally, this one by D.K. Shepard captures a moment so well, so purely: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/doe-a-deer%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E There are others but these are exemplary. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Sam. I write poetry mainly and the occasional random thoughts. I've been trying my hand at non poetic pieces lately. Drop by and give me some encouragement! ☺️ Since I joined Vocal, I've really been enjoying the writing of https://shopping-feedback.today/authors/dharrsheena-raja-segarran%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E. There's just something pure about her writing. Such intensity. I enjoy it. ❤️

Hello all. I write craft advice, fiction, poetry, and book reviews. I am really enjoying Raymond’s series of short stories which he is planning to (possibly) use to work towards a novel. He’s planning to publish this on Vocal as he goes along. I highly recommend reading all installments so far! 👏😊https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/murder-she-wrought-a-new-start%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

Howdy! I write a variety of things, mostly fiction and horror/thriller stuff, but the occasional humorous story. Rachel Deeming has been doing a short story a day and her recent set of stories follows a single story-line from various points of view. As for the newest installment, get ready for the Mad Tea Party because this story has taken a spin and I am excited to see where it ends up! https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/dave-s-story%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

I read two incredible pieces this morning that I would love to highlight. First, Community legend, Dharrsheena, penned a deep, emotional poem, Catharsis. Incredible. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/catharsis-sk6q20tut%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Second, Dr. Jason Benskin wrote a phenomenal dar poem titled The Soul-Taker's Lullaby. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/the-soul-taker-s-lullaby#comment-fb754d2e-3c2c-4cb2-80ff-f436481dad14%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
