Musky perfume of these leaves laid to rest
A gasp of crisp air kissed by morning dew
Cool rough stone of my rocky reading nest
Turning page, and soundless approach of a doe
Fragile peace pouring from dark eyes into mine

This is so vividly beautiful 💖. These lines gave me goosebumps! “ Turning page, and soundless approach of a doe Fragile peace pouring from dark eyes into mine”
Stunning. All senses activated! I love how you provided such a rich experience in so few words :)
Wow DK!! This brought about a sense of peace for me and really stilled my world!!
I’m with Lamar. This was a phenomenal last line.
That last line got me and took me there. Nature is a wondrous place. Great job capturing the moment!
Well-wrought! Watching nature unfold in this way is always a treasure!
Ah, that's soooo blissfully wonderful! Loved it!
Beautiful, DK! I love the connection you make with the wild. Reminds me of Martin Buber's I - Thou. 'Musky perfume of these leaves laid to rest' is a magnificent opening line. Really wonderful writing!
Always a rush when they come close! This is a great sensory experience!

one of my favorite experiences is when the deer approach! excellent poem.
Ooooooh love it. Love deer and had many encounters, on the Braes and funnily enough, off the Braes here. This is a little piece of sensory magic in poetry, DK! Well done!
