Solo traveller
She was an explorer. Of the world within and without. She was the microcosm connected to the macrocosm at all times. And her inner world was even more mysterious than the wonders of this planet. She stood between two worlds, and every experience out there changed her inner landscape. She loved the adventure, and the adventure loved her back.

Run Forrest, run!
The other day, I finally watched “Forrest Gump” , and noticed a theme that, to my knowledge, isn’t part of the mainstream conversation about this film - namely the developmental psychology thread running through the storyline and shaping the lives of the main characters.

Dedication to the trees
The tree is one of the most powerful, complex and popular symbols in human history and culture , and it came to represent a variety of things. Strength, wisdom, balance, protection, growth. Tree of Life, World tree, Cosmic tree, Tree of knowledge of good and evil. There is a lot to unpack here, as this is indeed a multifaceted and complex archetype, but in this article I will focus on the aspects I personally find the most interesting, as well as the most applicable in my own life.

The forest has called me…
The forest has called me the other day… And I have answered its call. But first, not so little preface. ~~~ I live in a big city, a city I used to love and couldn’t get enough of. London , UK has certainly felt like home to me for a very long time; in fact it has felt more like home than the country and the city in Eastern Europe I was born in back in the eighties.

The best medicine
They say that laughter is the best medicine. That may be so (and it is certainly a very enjoyable one) , but it’s not like it is always available; rather it is something that happens spontaneously, and that’s the beauty of it. The best medicine in my opinion should be at one’s disposal at all times, as one never knows when they might need it.

Know thyself
I oftentimes hear that people do not know what they want, and it usually sounds like a judgment of some kind, whether aimed at others or at oneself. What I came to understand as a result of therapy, is that a lot of the time this happens due to unmet needs; very basic psychological developmental needs that we are often not even consciously aware of having once we ‘grow up’.

A new hope
Evidently the Spring is finally here, and the Sun’s power is gaining its momentum, gifting us all in the Northern Hemisphere with the longer and brighter days, cheerful bird songs, and flowers blooming in the city’s parks - both on the ground and on the trees. Spring comes bearing many gifts - the colours, the sounds, the warmth of the sunshine on one’s skin , allowing one’s senses to delight and forget all about the cold and grey days of the previous months.

The real secret to the success of “Friends”
“Friends” is an iconic American television sitcom that aired on NBC for 10 years and 10 seasons (between September 1994 and May 2004) , generating over a billion dollars in revenue, winning multiple awards, and making its main cast into the household names. And its success continues to this day, with the sitcom ranking in the top 10% of the most popular TV shows on Netflix globally in 2024.

The price we pay for the convenience of modern technology.
Whenever I hear a phrase - “no one reads the captions under the Instagram posts, people only look at the images/reels”, it actually motivates me to write longer texts on the platform. Not in the hope that more people will read my words, but because in my personal reality I am not going to reinforce the dysfunctional pattern that has become so normalised in our society. Because the short attention span our generation is suffering from, is nothing to be proud of and to keep reinforcing.
