"LOST IN UNDERSTANDING IN TIME". Content Warning.
I created this video song story to talk a little about mental health and what happens when one divorces a narcissist. I thought I would create this out of memory of a friend I knew who was hurt deeply by her ex-husband. This situation occurs in many relationships. The older lady friend of mine reflects about her over 30 years ago. She is sad, but therapy and time she begins to heal from her pain that she hid from people for many years.

When Integers Attack. Honorable Mention in Absurdist Awakening Challenge.
The dreaded SAT starts promptly at 8:30 am in the morning. Too damn early if you ask me. Getting a good score is the only way of getting a scholarship into a decent college (unless you get a B-list actress to pay someone to take the test for you). Ninety of us are packed in like herrings, nine neat rows, entering demographic information in case universities want to contact us directly. Lots of codes and crap to enter: student ID, school, room number, blood type, next of kin, my car’s VIN.

Finding Katie 3
Hello to all the vocal peeps out there. I am writing my finding Katie blog 3… I know I know, it’s a little late but I am writing it so there is that. I think what I am going to do is write 1 finding Katie a month and one Finding Katie’s story a month every two weeks. Two stories a month (along with whatever else I may be writing) is probably enough.

Can I whip it into shape?
How hard could it be, to write an absurd story? After all, life is one constant struggle reigning in absurd behaviour and thinking. Strolling alongside the creek with my daughter and beloved dog, I shared my ‘brilliant’ story ideas. Then I hustled home to record them before they fell out of my sieve of a brain.

Maybe
Dewey was snoring. It was the least endearing thing about him on a list that was alarmingly short. It was that and leaving the wrappers to his gum everywhere, including Rowan’s bed somehow. The overly charming exterior that was Dewey did nothing to counteract the vexing sound of his snores now.

The Lost Art of Listening
Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me Is there anyone at home? — Comfortably Numb, Pink Floyd Pink Floyd's lyrics from Comfortably Numb echo a familiar frustration: Do you ever feel like people are not really listening when you talk to them, whether in person or on the phone? Plenty of times, I have been chatting on the phone with one of my children or a friend. They had called me, and after we shared a little tidbit of back-and-forth conversation, I am met with complete and utter silence.

Teacher. Runner-Up in The Metamorphosis of the Mind Challenge.
Like a 1960s version of Tom Sawyer, my big brother got me to purple-wash the beige walls of our parents’ former conjugal quarters. Our dad had moved out of the house and our mom had turned the den into her new bedroom.

Self-Editing Epiphany
People Pleaser: A blessing or a curse? I am the youngest of six, to a mother that struggled her whole life with Bi-polar disorder, before there was positive treatment. She was the daughter of an English teacher and the oldest granddaughter to a preacher. Because of this, she struggled to let the mask fall and get the help she needed.
