Numb

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished 11 months ago 1 min read
Top Story - March 2025

Dreams can become nightmares,

the numbing feeling of drowning in your sleep,

then you realize you're awake.

My friends all belong in the shadows now,

the heartbreak, disaster, and pain took its toll

and now I have half a soul.

I stare off into the distance of existence in hopes something will change,

my days somehow getting shorter,

my heart becoming lighter,

and my mind no longer heavy with the thoughts never ending.

Instead, I am met with the empty numb heaviness,

drowning in my nightmares that are real

existing in nothingness.

I thought the numbness would disappear

as I did from a world I used to know,

but those are the dreams I had hoped for.

Congratulations on TS!! 🎉🥳 These lines are sad: My friends all belong in the shadows now, the heartbreak, disaster, and pain took its toll and now I have half a soul.
