The Dress that was Armor
“That’s my favorite dress of yours, Katie. You look so pretty,” my dad said as he smiled down at me. He ruffled my hair, and I did a little twirl in my brand-new jean dress. He made me feel pretty, and special. My mother bought me this blue jean dress; the dress was long and had silver buttons that went all the way down the front. I loved it, it made me feel so grown up. My father loved it, and that made it even more special.

What Color is your Dress?
I am bisexual, it is a part of me… but it has never been much of a struggle. I am extremely fortunate in this, and thankful too. I have aways just found that women are beautiful too. As a child it never hindered me. I wasn’t a very sexual child, even as I grew older. I was what you might call a late bloomer. Sex and all that it entailed did not interest me like it did my fellow highschoolers. Later when sexuality was a thing, I was still shy. I still am in some ways. I have never dated a woman. I have had some fun a time or ten in my life with a lady but never anything serious. Sorry to the gentlemen out there, but I have found that women are the better kissers. I tended to study that phenomenon particularly when I was out drinking. Honestly, I wouldn’t know how to go about dating a woman… Gods to be honest socially it’s difficult for me to initiate things with any sex. I’m not ashamed of that, even at my age, we all are who we are. That being said, I am not shy about who I am and I believe people have the right to be who they are.

Who's Your Daddy
So, I work at a thrift store that takes donations from the public. I am one of the employees that collects the donations. There I was in the sunshine waiting for cars with a smile on my face. I helped a few people and then, this guy shows up with an entire truck bed of stuff to donate. I uncharitably thought oh no here we go because truck beds full of grubby looking boxes are usually a pain in the ass to deal with. Still, I kept that smile on my face and greeted the customer and told him how it all worked. Plus, the guy was wearing a great shirt, and I definitely gave him points for that. It was the shirt in the picture above. It had Darth Vader and below it said, “who’s your daddy.” I mean who doesn’t love a quirky Star Wars shirt? This one was just hilarious. I grinned and said, “I love your shirt!” with nerdy enthusiasm and was not prepared for what happened next.

Finding Katie 3. Top Story - March 2025.
Hello to all the vocal peeps out there. I am writing my finding Katie blog 3… I know I know, it’s a little late but I am writing it so there is that. I think what I am going to do is write 1 finding Katie a month and one Finding Katie’s story a month every two weeks. Two stories a month (along with whatever else I may be writing) is probably enough.

Heroes Among Us
Once upon a time, the gods of old walked the earth. Their power poured onto the earth like rain. Some gods were good, and some were made of mischief or evil. The gods meddled in the lives of humans and humans coped the best they could. People and gods interacted, and the people believed. Heroes rose and fell. Great battles were fought, and the end of the world was stopped by gods and the souls of worthy warriors. Season bled into season, as year by year time flowed by. The gods faded, but never truly went away and they never stopped watching over the world. The gods see. They see everything, but mostly they do nothing. They watch and they wait. There are those, however, who do more, who strive to find the heroes.
