Seeking Something More
Another year has gone, and a new one begins. Everyone makes resolutions, goals, or whatever name you want to call them. I've grown tired of resolving to do something that won't amount to anything achieved by the end of another year. So I am done with setting "resolutions".

Is Crypto the Way to Go?
There are many people who had an opportunity to get involved in Bitcoin (BTC) when it first came out, but choose not to because “it won’t go anywhere”. The concept of virtual currency being worth anything back then seemed like such a bizarre concept. Fast forward to today and one single Bitcoin is worth over 100k on a good day. This has resulted in an abundance of people kicking themselves for not taking the chance back when it was offered to them. The good news is that the concept of cryptocurrency is not going anywhere anytime soon, so there are many more possible opportunities to get in and not miss out on a potential big investment like Bitcoin.

Is Gen X Stuck in 'Fight or Flight'?. Content Warning.
There are constant jokes and memes over Gen X being one of the toughest generations. The concept of Gen X'ers raising themselves from early childhood, having a lack of strict rules to follow by growing up, and learning to internalize our pain. As a member of Gen X, I was one of the members of the generation that was forced to grow up too fast. I was taking care of my younger siblings and cousins when I was 8 years old. It was not unusual for me to be left alone with them while the adults went to the store or to work. I was a confident for the adults in my family. It was not uncommon for me to be the "middle-man" trying to help broker peace in a family conflict when I was 10 years old. Nor was it uncommon for me to call the police to report domestic incidents of violence when those attempts at keeping the peace failed miserably.

Surviving is Overated. Runner-Up in Future Fragments Challenge. Content Warning.
Fiadh remembered what it used to be like. The struggles. The fights to keep above water. Barely surviving each and every day. The government kept making promises, each party saying they would bring lower prices, end inflation, make life enjoyable again.

Movies Gen X Grew up With That Have Aged Horribly. Content Warning.
Every generation has movies that were popular and significant to them during their younger years. It can be quite a surprise to rewatch some of those movies as an older adult and wonder how certain scenes were considered funny or romantic… or allowed to be in the movie at all. Here are some moments in movies from the era of Gen X that stand out as horrible now, but didn’t cause much fuss when they were released.

2024: The Saga Continues Pt. 2. Content Warning.
2024 has been a year of roller coaster emotions, and that's putting it lightly. Music has been there through every moment... the beauty and the horror. There are always two sides to every story, including mine for 2024. The first side covered the darkest moments, the failures, the despair, the pain and the heartbreak. It becomes easy to allow the moments of hopelessness to reign and overshadow the moments of light... but what good does that bring? The moments of joy, relief, calm and love may be few and far between... but they exist and that is what makes the music of them so much sweeter as 2024 concludes.

Raised by Silence. Content Warning.
As a child, she read fairy tales and watched them on television. They taught her what she knew about love and how a female "should" act. The helpless damsel in distress needing a strong, handsome Prince to rescue her and give her a better life. As she grew older, movies and television shows continued to show her what was expected of her. Grease was one of her favorite movies growing up; she saw it as the best story of true love. Sandy and Danny were her ideal couple. A girl who was sweet, caring, smart, and innocent then changed her whole self for the bad boy who couldn't accept her as she was. The female characters who chase after abusive men, allowing themselves to be used and treated like property. The scene where Danny attempted to rape Sandy while they were on a date and nothing was ever said about it later on. She still ran back to his arms and called him her true love. Maybe that was why she failed to understand that rape was wrong when it happened to her.

Forever Falling. Content Warning.
She never expected to find true love. Being hurt was her inevitable purpose. She accepted this. She didn't like it, but it is just how it was meant to be. Her life was filled with moment after moment of being hurt by anyone she trusted. She tried not to develop feelings for anyone because she knew they would eventually hurt her, but her heart wasn't wired to be cold and uncaring. She loved freely and with all of her heart even when she fought with all she had to keep walls up protecting herself from it.

2024: The Saga Continues. Content Warning.
As midnight hit and 2024 began, the struggle to leave the sorrow and pain of 2023 behind was an all too familiar challenge these days. January 1, 2024 was here and I was still here... but how much of me was there left at this point? Year after year of fighting challenge after challenge without any breaks; 2024 found me with barely anything left to give. My soundtrack of the year began with me feeling like I was "Breaking Inside".

Why I Masturbate. Content Warning.
Masturbation. Self-pleasure. Flicking the bean. There are many different names used to describe it, especially when a woman engages in it. For me, it’s called self-love and self-care. Female masturbation has always had a negative spin put on it, with people calling it immoral and wrong, dirty and a sin. It is still seen as a taboo for many people, even in this modern age where we would like to think we are more… enlightened. While many see masturbation as being an act performed purely for pleasure and orgasm, I associate it with something much bigger.

As the Year Concludes. Content Warning.
I was hopeful at 2023 closed out that 2024 would be a better year - basically, this was the same thing I had been saying at the end of each year since 2015. Yet, each year would be an even bigger struggle than the one before. I still had hope. December 31st would arrive, and I would be hopeful that things would change in the new year. It never did. It just got worse, and hope became harder to have. I would like to say that I see 2025 to be a better year, and a year that things finally go right. Unfortunately, 2024 took the one thing that all the other shitty years before it failed to take from me - hope.
