Another Valentine Perspective - A Mikeydred February Dollar Prompt For All Vocal Creators

Introduction

Every month I set prompts in the Vocal Social Society and offer a dollar tip to five random creators who take part in it and ask them to share their stories in the comments and on the thread in the group.

This is not official and usually after each one I say that's it, but this is another time where I say, "No, let's have another prompt.

So What's Gonna Happen This Time?

I want you to write me a story or poem, the theme is things that relate to February. Obviously, Valentine will be a major pull for this, Valentine's Day "Romance" but there is also the violence such as The St Valentine's Day Massacre involving the gangster Al Capone.

I do find the thought of anonymous Valentine's cards and gifts very stalkerish but it was the norm when I was a teenager.

Motörhead/Headgirl/Gilrschool used it to title their EP featuring Johnny Kidd's "Please Don't Touch"

Valentine was apparently executed by Claudius for not renouncing his faith. Read more here.

Some dates in February 2025:

• February 2 is Groundhog Day—the day we find out whether winter will last 6 more weeks or call it quits early.
• February 9 is the Super Bowl in 2025.
• February 12 is Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday. The 16th president of the United States was born in a one-room, 16x18-foot log cabin with a dirt floor.
• February 14 is always Valentine’s Day.
• February 15 is Susan B. Anthony’s Birthday. How much do you know about this women’s rights leader?
• February 15 is also National Flag of Canada Day!
• February 28 is Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

So there are a lot of non-Valentine things to inspire you.

I will write and include an example story, but that won't be classed as an entry.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with and I know that you are all incredible creative Vocal talents, so get your pens, paper and keyboards out.

The music is "Today Was A Fairy Tale" by Taylor Swift which features in the film "Valentine's Day", take a listen, it may inspire you.
