Harriet Harman: Address The Elephant in The Room.. Content Warning.
Labour Peer Harriet worked for two Labour prime ministers: Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. She now sits in the House of Lords and was speaking to Sky's Beth Rigby. She recalled how George W. Bush unleashed tariffs on steel imports. Back then, she remembers Tony Blair disagreeing with Bush, even though they had a growing bromance. Blair had the guts to tell Bush to his face that imposing tariffs was against World Trade Organisation rules.

Tariff War
A tariff war, also known as a trade war, is a situation in which countries impose tariffs (taxes or duties) on each other's goods and services in an effort to protect their own economies or to retaliate against perceived unfair trade practices. The idea behind tariffs is to make imported goods more expensive, thereby encouraging consumers to buy domestic products. While tariffs can serve as a protective measure for local industries, they can also create tensions between trading partners and lead to a series of retaliatory actions that escalate into a full-blown tariff war. This article explores the nature of tariff wars, their causes, effects, and notable examples in recent history.

Trump Pauses Tariffs.. Content Warning.
President Trump waxed lyrical about wanting Americans to buy American goods. Trump, during his first term and 2.0 now, threatened everyone with tariffs. China, China, China, was and is a mantra for the Orange One. Trump probably sleep talks those words too. In Trump's mind, all the ills of the world are China's fault. If it rains or if Trump slips in the shower, President Xi masterminded it. Just like Trump's buddy Bibi Netanyahu blames Hamas for this and Hamas for that. These two guys really need to get a life and find a hobby.

IVF Conception 2025: The Next Reproductive Battle for Women?
At first glance, IVF and abortion may seem like opposites: one is done to create a pregnancy, while the other is performed to terminate one. They are linked, however, due to the legal and moral debates surrounding the status of a fertilized egg in the context of reproductive healthcare. Both procedures involve the manipulation of fertilized eggs at an early stage of development — and in certain legal frameworks — especially those that consider “personhood” to begin at conception — both procedures could be impacted by legislation meant to restrict access because they both involve the potential to discard fertilized eggs or embryos. With the current political climate, the discussion around both procedures is becoming more complex, especially for women.

Iran and The US: Talks in Oman.. Content Warning.
Trump was meeting his partner in crime, Bibi Netanyahu, in the White House. It's the usual thing with Trump when entertaining world leaders. Both leaders were sitting in the usual gold material chairs. Their teams sat on either side of them. The world's press was asking both dictators, sorry leaders, questions. Netanyahu waxed lyrical about how Trump was the best friend for Israel of all US Presidents. Trump kept shaking Netanyahu's hand again and again. Trump had discussed tariffs, Gaza, Iran, and other issues with Netanyahu. Both men will be walking shoulder to shoulder on all issues. Israel and the US, especially with Trump in the White House, are lockstep together. Israel is the apple of the US's eye, and that was the case with Biden, too. Israel's relationship with the US is even greater than with the UK. "Well, thanks USA, we in the UK, because of our shared history, should be closer, but apparently not"!

Is Trump Already a Failure?. Content Warning.
Trump was the go-to man before becoming President. He was held up by many Americans as the alternative to Biden. He was the man who was going to get rid of forever wars like quagmires in Afghanistan. He was going to end the Ukraine-Russia war and the Hamas-Israel war. He was going to put America first. He has grand designs on Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal. He was going to bring an end to so-called Woke culture. Make Christian prayer and beliefs prominent again. Trump was going to deal with illegal immigration into the USA.

Homeland Performance. Top Story - April 2025.
I must look stunning to get Donald to select me as his running mate. My makeover includes my hair, teeth, outfits, and makeup. I won't wear jeans and cowgirl shirts. It worked as South Dakota governor but won't sit well with Donald. He requires camera-ready, attractive, and photogenic television personalities with bright, shining smiles and beautiful long hair. If he doesn't select me as VP, I'll get a Cabinet position.
