Businesswoman Chapter 23
Lisa counted the ticks. Each tick corresponded to the number of former teammates standing on the basketball court. Before each game at New Sweden University, the women’s basketball team lined up insync with a drum beat against the rim. Loreen looked on with her partner.

Businesswoman Chapter 22
Loreen and Lisa traveled to the Women’s Correctional Building in New Castle, Delaware. They showed no fear and did not shudder at the fact that some of these women committed hardcore crimes. Businesswoman Chapter 21
Loreen peered at her smartwatch. She looked placid despite her mind on fire. A potential businessperson was supposed to arrive for an appointment. Two minutes ago. That was Loreen’s rule. She allowed a two-minute grace period. She rose from her seat in her office. She called her assistant.

Businesswoman Chapter 18
“Canard, we’re going to use a networking system,” Loreen informed. “We’ll set you up in one of my homes. You can band with other people within your current status and build businesses together,” she mentioned. “OneSheet would solve all the logistical issues in being either an entrepreneur or work your way up the corporate ladder. Somewhere, you might be mopping floors. Then, you’ll work the fries. Next, you’ll be a cashier. Afterward, you’ll be a supervisor and also manager. In the end, you’ll be a franchise owner. That's my commitment, but no promises.”

Hot summer heat enveloped Hector Vergara. He felt like he was back picking oranges with his father decades ago. The sting of the oppressive heat made him think about how far he had risen. His motorcade made it to what was once Milford, Delaware. The unassuming city in Kent County (or what was once that region) permitted Vergara to become ensconced. He kept going and going with the air conditioner on full blast. Even with it blaring, some trickles of sweat snuck their way down his cheek, exposing a thin trail of hair color like a blood line oozing somewhat from a wound.
