Sun shone in the school. The whole place looked state-of-the-art. This academy in Wilmington welcomed grades first through twelfth. It showed how the progress of education ran against the controls of the city, state, and federal governments. When Loreen and Lisa arrived, they gasped at how spotless and new-agey the place felt.

Bellinda couldn’t sit. She possessed the ability but not the will. She looked at the figures on her desk. A raging bar graph shot up from the webpage. By analyzing the data over and over again, she still wanted to know why October had been such an outstanding month. With her ideas swirling in her head like pools of oil in standing water, she wanted to know how she could possibly recapture this same momentum for the months to come.
