She rode in the back of the Goudling ultra luxury sedan. Loreen Breen looked up from her tablet and saw a businessman offering a dollar bill to a beggar on the street.

“Raphael!”

“Yes, ma’am?”

“Pull over to the side of the road where that man in a business suit is standing.” She looked down at her own attire, a t-shirt and jeggings. She could only assume that this man stood as a captain of industry. He was.

As the car slid up to the two gentlemen, Loreen exited the car before Raphael could even open her door.

“It’s Businesswoman here to save something. What’s up, Mrs. Breen?”

“Just call me Loreen. Now, it looks like a lopsided transaction going down here.” She turned to the entrepreneur, clean cut with black skin and flowing lochs. She looked down at the beggar, haggard and gray with greasy hair and a stench of defeat.

“Look, you’re both going about this the wrong way. Mr.—”

“Setland,” the businessman replied.

“Okay, you stand up so we’re not looking down at you, literally. What is your name?”

“Canard.”

The man rose to his feet and placed his “Anything helps, God bless” sign on the deck under a rock. He had a backpack and a gunnysack of clothes and some food donated to him.

“What we need to do is not help every hand reaching for succor.” She explained this to Setland. “What you want to do is create a pathway for the indigent to no longer be residentially challenged and gainfully employed in industry.”

“Canard just needed a dollar. I can spare that.”

“Can you spare it for all the Canards on our highways, under bridges, and in alleyways?”

“I have the money….”

“That’s not the point. I have OneSheet.org. You can download the work.”
