Art from Sweden
Stone Age inscriptions and drawings have been discovered in Sweden dating from about 7000 BC. Between the 8th and 11th centuries AD Viking or Norse Art was created. Since the Middle Ages, Swedish Art was mostly involved with church decorations. By the 17th century, many Swedish artists were adopting the trending styles of other parts of Europe.

Charming Charleston
Welcome to Charleston, a port city in South Carolina. It is known for its cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages and antebellum houses. The heroine of the classic novel “Gone With the Wind” Scarlett had relatives in this city and simply adored it.

Roman Artwork
Augustus of Prima Porta Augustus of Prima Porta is a famous marble statue that portrays the first Roman Emperor, Augustus Caesar. It was discovered in 1863 during an archaeological excavation at the Villa of Livia which once belonged to the third wife of Augustus. The emperor is depicted as a commander-in-chief of the Roman army. He’s wearing a cuirass with images referring to a significant diplomatic accomplishment, the Parthian restitution of the Roman eagles. Augustus is represented barefoot with his right arm raised addressing his troops. Of interest is the infant by his right leg.

Wildlife of Bhutan The Kingdom of Bhutan is a small Asian country. On the south, east, and west it is bordered by India and then north by China. The country is located on the slopes and foothills of the eastern Himalayas and has diverse habitats from tropical lowlands to deciduous and pine forests to alpine terrain.
