Take Away the Gray Day

This gray day,

makes me reflect,

makes me dreamy,

as the mist rolls from the ground

and hangs upon the air.

Like a fairytale forest,

the woods look today,

so quiet and wrapped in mystery,

the bare branches of the trees,

reaching like gnarled fingers high into the sky.

This gray day,

brings on daydreams,

like rolling waves,

that come lapping one by one,

against the sandy shore,

while I listen to some music,

that brings smiles,

from days gone by.

This gray day,

makes me remember you,

when your smile,

brightened up every room,

when you were here,

to make the gray days bearable.

Now everything seems so very unreal,

as if it was just a moment,

hanging in time,

perhaps the falling raindrops,

are sent as a greeting from you,

perhaps you can find me –

a ray of sunshine to come shining through.

This gray day,

makes me wonder,

if the world,

has turned a steely gray

and that way it will stay,

but I know that it will be alright,

there must be a rainbow after the rain

and that you’ll find a way –

to shine your love down on me taking away the gray day.
