A Shiny New Tomorrow
A poem and an inspirational song
In this crazy world,
I sometimes think -
that I am but a cloud,
passing by, blown by the wind.
I look at the birds,
so happy and singing,
able to fly here and there,
so carefree.
And I wonder -
Am I like them?
Can I take my troubles
and toss them aside?
Sing a merry tune
and go on my way.
Then comes a rainy day,
it fills me with sorrow,
then I remember,
there will be a better tomorrow.
So I say away with all my tears,
bring on the smiles
and the happy days.
Nothing in this life,
can be any better -
than the dreams that we dream.
Giving us hope for the future,
perhaps we’ll catch that lucky star,
shining upon us from afar.
Favorite songs bring golden memories,
while we put our sorrows behind us.
Always grateful,
for the blessings -
that are bestowed upon us
and able to sail into a bright and shiny -
new tomorrow.

The Blue Ridge Stalker
Tom had left the Ford down the way, its spark plugs finally exhausted and no mechanics for a dozen miles back through the foothills to Strossburg. No matter, he had worn his boots—almost as if he planned for this to happen. The puzzle he sought to solve emanated from the woods clinging to the slopes above; the valley behind held no mysteries.
