Dead End
Saturday morning, at the scene of the cri death The TV is showing static, as if it had been left on a late-night channel and nobody turned it off. That is, in fact, exactly what happened. The light was left on, and a takeaway box has been left on the table.

One Day, I Just Disappeared
Four years old The first time I woke up invisible, I thought I was dreaming. I'd had lots of real-seeming dreams just like it. I played with my toys and it looked like they were moving about by themselves. I giggled. My voice was invisible, too.

My If-ffiness
Another great idea by Rick! You can read his piece here: Here are my responses... If I were a rich person I would be free. Free of debt. Free to travel, if I wanted. I probably wouldn't want, but I'd be free to. That's the thing. Free to live anywhere I wanted. Free to write. So many hours freed up every day to think, dream, create, polish. These are the stories I tell myself about money and I wonder how true they are. I think of Jacob Marley with his long chain and I wonder if that isn't the most perfect bit of financial propaganda in 200 years.

A New Beginning. Top Story - January 2024.
Bright white nothing. Blinking against the glare, I willed my churning guts to still. Chewed my lip, wiped my sweaty palms on my trousers. I'd never been on a spaceship before. I tried not to stare around me (not that there was anything to look at) but this left nowhere for my gaze to rest but on his(?) huge black eyes.

From Which River
This isn't a post about Israel or Palestine or even politics. This is a post about people. Specifically, about how even people clever enough to go to university can still be stupid in specific ways. They can have access to all the information, and still be willfully ignorant. They can be wilfully ignorant and still advertise their own view as the right one, or even the only moral one.

Ten Lessons I Learned From My Dog . Top Story - December 2023.
I don't get people who don't get dogs. I don't like all dogs, just like I don't like all people. They have distinct personalities, and some are infinitely more likeable than others. Some are probably basically decent, but seem to have been poorly raised. But on the whole, I'm a dog person, and I'm going to spell it out to you exactly why.
