Stripped Journaling. Content Warning.
Forgiveness: a conscious and deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment towards someone who hurt you. Why is forgive and forget so hard? Something done by someone I’ve yet to see again haunts my reality as if it happened yesterday. Like a scar that is deeper than the ones carved by my hand. A person unknown to me, yet forever tied to my soul through one terrible night. The fear of feeling powerless again lingers with me, paranoid, afraid of my own shadow. Am I safe anywhere? Will I be hurt again by another insignificant person who can decide if I am prey? Someone so hungry that they don’t care about their actions. Someone who could easily overpower me and enjoy watching the struggle.

Shattered Skies. Content Warning.
I don’t remember the beginning, not anymore. Every life blurred into the next, the faces I’ve loved, the homes I’ve built—all washed away like tides against a shore. But the stars... the stars never seem to forget me. They always find me. Pulling me back into their endless cycle, their eternal purpose. And now, standing beneath their frozen light, I just wish I could forget them too.

Trust the Fall
On a crisp winter day, I took a trip to Niagara Falls in the negative four-degree weather. I went there to have a day with a friend with the intention of doing a video shoot, but what I left with was far more valuable. With the day ahead of us, we woke up nice and early. We were so excited to go to the falls even though we were fully aware that the weather was going to be less than desirable. We bundled up in layers. I wore three pairs of pants, two sweatshirts, two pairs of socks, a coat, a scarf, and two layers of gloves, and I was still freezing. The cold air bit through every layer, but the excitement of the day kept us moving forward.

Beneath the Olive Sky. Honorable Mention in Through the Lens Challenge.
On a snowy night, I hesitated to leave the comfort of my warm home. The cold outside mixed with windy snowfall seemed much more intense than the stillness of my room. We only needed one thing from the store, a quick little errand that felt like a major inconvenience, but as often happens, this single task led us out into the frigid world. Originally, we planned to go farther down the road to a bigger store. But as we neared the stop sign, the bright neon blue lights of a smaller, nearby store caught my eye. It was closer–and cheaper. Something about that light, so present against the darkened sky, drew me in, abandoning the original plans.
