Pain weighed heavy on my soul as a young child. Numbed by disappointment, I painted my skin. Red was never my favorite color, but in those times, it never looked so beautiful.

Fresh air fills my lungs as forgiveness soars the air. Happiness fueled by creativity lights my path. Red has never been my favorite color but we now coexist, remembering the past, acknowledging the present, and creating the future.
