Shadowork

light inside the silhouette

By Emmie FalboPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Stop looking at yourself

in such a negative light.

Every time you see me,

you love my figure,

my shape—

but honey... that's you.

I am a shaded-in outline

of some of the best parts of you.

The parts you hate the most

when you look in the mirror

are the parts you love most about me

when you look for me on the sidewalk.

When will you realize

that you are gorgeous—

mind, body, and soul?

There are demons

that distort your vision,

making you view yourself

as some ugly duckling.

You're anything but.

You, darling, have grown so much.

I've been watching.

You have healed parts of yourself

you never thought you would get over.

I am so proud of you.

You have a beautiful mind,

soul,

personality.

You are so wise

and create beautiful art.

I am in awe of the person

you have become,

and I am so happy

I was given the opportunity

to be your shadow—

because you are truly amazing,

and I love you.
