I've been through a lot in my life. Here is a list of some of the horrible things that have happened to me: I've been abused. I've been homeless. I've lost many people I love. I've been in a psychiatric hospital where I nearly died and couldn't remember who I was. I've lost my children twice to the system because of mental health and trauma. I've suffered constant bullying from my early childhood through to my young adulthood and partly through my older adulthood. I've suffered some horrible and painful violence. I felt I was a nobody for a long time and that my life wasn't worth living.

When my husband was discharged from the hospital, he was so weak that he couldn't walk for a long time. It was also discovered that the illness had worsened all of his disabilities left behind by a brain tumour operation from when he was young, and we found out that there were more disabilities that we never knew were going to arise from the same thing.
