They Never Told Me

Some people say that all good things must come to an end,

They never told me that this ending would be forever;

They tell me,

Life goes on; it will be ok,

But, How can it be if you're not here?

I sit in the darkness,

My mind spinning in circles,

Feeling the open pit in my heart;

They never told me you would be gone for good,

And they never told me I wouldn't be able to carry on,

without you;

I don't know where to begin,

And I don't know whether what I'm feeling is real,

All that I know is you're gone.

I walk down the lonely road,

It's dark now, and it's really cold out here;

I can still hear you,

I feel the touch of your hand,

I sense you,

But I don't see you around,

They never told me that

grieving would be this bad;

Teardrops are falling,

Flooding the roads below;

And,

I still hear you calling,

Will I ever let go?

Because it's too hard

to let go.
