Book Review: "Stolen Innocence" by Elissa Wall
It's May 2025 and the weather is pretty good. Whilst I'm writing this I'm eating nachos but what's new? There's some interesting stuff out on Kindle sales and so, I've been about. One of those books is called Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall. It's a true account of the cult perpetuated by the monstrous Warren Jeffs - a man who's evil cannot be put into words. If you've seen the Netflix documentary Keep Sweet, Pray and Obey then you probably know bits and pieces of what I'm talking about. Let's take a look at just what Elissa Wall has to say about this and, content warning: shit's about to get dark.

The True Story and Double Life of Billy Tipton
When Billy Tipton died, the world finally noticed him—but not for his music. It was January 1989, in Spokane, Washington. Billy collapsed in the small home where he'd quietly raised a family. Paramedics arrived too late. He was 74. A jazz musician, semi-retired, father to three adopted sons, partner to a woman named Kitty. To anyone who knew him—really knew him—he was a gentle, private man who had lived a decent, ordinary life. The kind of man who made spaghetti from scratch, taught his boys to balance a checkbook, and still tinkered on the piano at night.

~ Frazzled ~
— I'm a Woman in Love with Being in Love — As an observational 'Goof' form of entertainment, in an off-putting sort of way, I've been scrolling through a dating site. There are pictures and bio profiles of hundreds of women. For some reason, they always show themselves when they are young next to their current pictures. I always ask to date the younger one!

SYMPHONY OF LOVE
The drum of your pulse resounds through me, a familiar thrum. I can hear your dreams; they ring in my ears like Heaven’s bells. I know you like the back of my hand, and I give you all of me, an offering, cupped in my palms for the taking. Your passions are my own; we are one in the same. I take them in my grasp and hold them to my lips, kissing your words like wet, slackened mouths, like open gashes. I cherish each idea, each syllable, all of you. For access to your mind, I am starved and aching. Stain me with your ideals, love. I will bleed for them; I will bleed for you. Touch your hand to mine; feel the weight of my pride for you. I would know you anywhere across the surface of the world. I would hear you in a sea of a million voices, and I would track you down. I will show you my own passion, my own light. I will be your Knight in shining armor, your glorious King, your Queen of all high. I will be your God, if you’ll let me. I will make my way through the darkness and back again just to hear your voice, to bask in the sweet symphony of you. I will give it all away, just to fight tooth and nail for it again, to keep you by my side. I will throb and ache for you. I will sing your melodies when you have not the strength; I will relish in the reverberation of your eternal song. Yours is a song as old as time, a beautiful hymn, a sweet, soft tune, yet something bold, something unrelenting. This forgotten music of you—how could I have forsaken it? How could I not sway to your rhythm? My body is a plucked string, vibrating, blurred in the dark of night. I move aimlessly for you. I curl like a wisp of vapor, a tuft of cloud, a lick of flame. I am everything around you, within you. I twirl your worries around in a circle above your head; let me make a lesson of your pain. Let me send away all that may harm you with a flick of my finger, a downwards jolt of hand, and it will be gone. You may have every breath in my lungs, every unsung note stuck in the hollow of my throat. To you, I give my all. I dedicate this music of my life to you. I give you my arms, the wiry, wild, fluid windmills of my soul. I give you my legs, how they stride, how they part, how they leap for joy. I give you my open heart, red and pounding, alive, awake, gaping in your wake. All of me is a symphony; all of me desires you. I will live for you. I will sing your name from the tallest mountaintops. I will glide side to side in the deepest pits of the sea, just to hear your timbred voice spill from your lips, a sugar sweet antidote to this world’s poison. My heart is yours forevermore, and it sings with such joy to have you.

"Weirdos"
My heart pounded against my rib cage as my mind went completely blank. But then Pallas caught my eye from the other side of the hallway. One hand hovered over her chest and rose and fell slightly with the rhythm of her breathing. Her deep green gaze seemed to glow in the distance, allowing a better understanding of her message:

The Heroes/villains Journey
The Hero’s Journey is a precocious one. For if one is not careful one will end the journey as the villain. Most villains see themselves the hero. They start with good intentions and build their road towards a noble goal. Yet somewhere down the path obsession, greed, love of power, or righteousness sets in.
