The Heroes/villains Journey

A journey in being

Where does the journey go?

The Hero’s Journey is a precocious one. For if one is not careful one will end the journey as the villain. Most villains see themselves the hero. They start with good intentions and build their road towards a noble goal. Yet somewhere down the path obsession, greed, love of power, or righteousness sets in.

It is believed that being the good guy is a simple path. Yet it is wrought with many choices that can lead you astray. As much as people seek the hero they will be part in their destruction. For the perceived good is met with jealousy. They can’t possibly be that good. There must be something wrong with them. They think they are so good. Who do they think they are?

It is something that the hero needs to overcome or it will drag them down the path of villainy. For these same people that they sacrifice everything for will sacrifice them in a second. Don’t get me wrong the hero will have allies but there will be many who seek their downfall. Many who will revel in the heroes misfortune.

So the hero must battle with the enemy within and the antagonist. They also have the very real possibility that corruption will set in from their chosen path. They must keep their mind clear and understand when to deviate with the plan.

As I said not a simple choice for doing the right thing sometimes is not considered good. So what will be decided what will be chosen how will the hero stand. Will they stick with their morals?

Who are you In The end? Can you be truthful with yourself when you look in the mirror and see who is staring back. Will it be the virtuous hero who seeks to make the world a better place not just for themselves but for all. Or will it be the vile villain that seeks only what the want and to hell with everyone else. Will you be able to see if corruption has entered your self and if so will you course correct and be the hero or stay as the villain or will you be blind to what you see.

This is the battle of the hero who must fight every day to just fight for what is right. Every step of the way someone will hamper their progress. Those who see themselves as good, those who do not like what the hero stands for those who have given themselves to evil. Those who have become minions to the ideals that call themselves good but seek to imprison enslave and subjugate and do not know they are but pawns in someone else story.

When creating my hero all of this comes to play as I weave the tapestry that is them. Which in turn brings me to their heroes journey.

Are they the true blue good hero that does good for goodness sake?

Are they the hero that sees they must do good for the sake of those close to them?

Are they the hero that has been wronged and now seek to bring justice to those that wronged him?

Are they the hero that is just minding their own life but has been dragged down into things.

Are they the hero that can nog see they are not the hero any more?

Are they even a hero but still find themselves doing what is write even if it is kicking and screaming?

Heroes can be good pure and willing to fight?

Heck this doesn't even cover it all.

Who is your hero? And what will they do and be?

This is all something to think about. The villain does see themselves as the hero of their own story.

This is such a great perspective on heroism and villainy. I liked your nuances on both sides, showing the complexity of the two and how thin the line can be between them. A very impressive and fascinating piece about self discovery and reflection!
