Local Government Oversight in Ephrata, PA
In Ephrata, Pennsylvania, a small borough tucked away in Lancaster County, the need for local government oversight has never been more pressing. As the town evolves, its growth and challenges reveal a stark divide between the interests of the well-off and the struggles of its most vulnerable residents. Whether it's issues of homelessness, the lack of affordable housing, or a borough council seemingly more aligned with the town’s elites, effective oversight is crucial in ensuring that Ephrata remains a community for everyone—not just the privileged few.

Debate Thoughts
Tomorrow night is the first presidential debate between two people who are polar opposites by any stretch of the imagination. One is a man and the other a woman. One is Caucasian by ethnicity and the other is not. One is Conservative and one is Liberal. One has led the country before and one has followed an appointed head of state.

The Time Has Come For Us To Divest From Harmful Systems By Devoting The Majority Our Political Energy To Building Dual Power
I’ve plugged it before, I’ll plug it again. On my instagram account, I posted an intervention trying to give shape to some ways that voting state, local and downballot can block the worst violence of Project 2025, even as the spectacle and pageantry of the US presidential election distracts us and manufactures our consent for the violent harms of American imperialism such as the current genocide in Gaza.

Kemi Badenoch: Can't Keep Blaming Labour.
When Rishi Sunak declared there would be a general election on 4 July could he have known the cataclysmic defeat he would face? Perhaps not even a prophet could have seen the defeat the Tories would face. Rishi must have known he would be the last in a line of disastrous Conservative Prime Ministers. 14 years of destruction wrought on the poorest amongst us. And so it was, Rishi was booted out of office, followed by Sir Keir Starmer.

Our Presidential Votes Hold No Sway - So Why Are We Fighting?
'Tis 4.5 Months Until The Inauguration Day Take that in. We have 141 days until the new president of the United States will take the oath that will dictate their life for the next 4 years of their life. And the closer we get to that date - the more evil, cruel, mean, and toxic American citizens will become to each other.

Kyiv Claims Putin Redirects Troops from Ukraine to Strengthen Russian Defense
Ukraine's incursion into Russia's Kursk region on August 6th has forced a significant shift in the war's dynamics. Reports suggest between 300-1,000 Ukrainian soldiers crossed the border, advancing rapidly. 🇺🇦🏃♂️ Ukrainian forces have reportedly seized 74 settlements in Kursk, according to President Zelensky. This includes the capture of the Sudzha gas metering station, a key part of Russia's European energy infrastructure. ❓🔧 The invasion has led to the displacement of nearly 200,000 Russian civilians, with 121,000 already having left their homes and another 180,000 ordered to evacuate. 🤯😬 Ukraine's Foreign Ministry states that the incursion is not about taking territory, but rather to force Russia to restore a just peace. The raids are described as a response to Putin's continued aggression. 🕊️👊 Russian President Vladimir Putin has been forced to redeploy troops from occupied areas in Ukraine to defend Russian soil. Units have been relocated from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, according to Ukrainian Army spokesperson Dmytro Lovi. 😬🤐

Harris and Trump: What's Happening.. Content Warning.
Kamala Harris remains Vice-President in the dying days of Joe Biden's presidency. The utter disaster of Trump v Biden round 2 in July was enough for many Democrats. Biden bumbled and stumbled through the broadcast whereas Trump seemed cognitive and coherent. Biden resisted being ousted from the presidential race. Joe Biden has always wanted to be president so why would he step down, even with alleged mental health?

Female Democrat or Male Republican?
I wasn't going to touch on politics for awhile, but with only two more months until election day it seems like I can't avoid it. I had been inspired briefly by the Republicans and Trump while I considered reestablishing my voting privilege (an option I have) so that I could responsibly take part in the democratic process. The me I was a decade ago would have no doubts about doing that and would think it my honor and my duty to vote. The me today is trying not to laugh at how both candidates are the most ridiculous I've ever seen.
