Our Presidential Votes Hold No Sway - So Why Are We Fighting?
A Random Epiphany.
'Tis 4.5 Months Until The Inauguration Day
Take that in. We have 141 days until the new president of the United States will take the oath that will dictate their life for the next 4 years of their life. And the closer we get to that date - the more evil, cruel, mean, and toxic American citizens will become to each other.
We've had election propaganda happening since 2023, and we still have almost 5 more months of this hell. And when I say hell, I mean the hell that Americans have put each other through.
And we have all fought, cursed, demeaned, demoralized, stooped to RIDICULOUS troll levels on the internet, and 'expressed our opinion' on our new future possible presidents (well.. one new... one possible returning...uh... whatever he was during his term because 'president' doesn't seem... appropriate. Pray for Murica, world. Please).
The Future Of America Is A Big Deal To Everyone Here - So Naturally Our Instincts Are To Maim Anyone Who Disagrees With Us
The internet is riddled with election propaganda. Every day a new headline, hundreds of new opinionated articles, satire pieces meant to degrade and insult the human beings who are in a race to win the position of "the boss of America."
Most People Don't Understand The Role Of The President.
I really don't. I think MOST of the people who are throwing verbal abuse, getting angry and belligerent like children fighting over a toy, have no clue what the real duties of the president are. I'm pretty convinced most people think the president is just there to push the nuke button when the aliens invade. Like Flo is the face of Progressive, the Goose is the face of Aflec, and the gecko is the face of Geico? Some of the most aggressively patriotic folks in Murica, don't understand government in even the SLIGHTEST.
The President has about 5 or 7 important duties. They play several roles in the government, and they ultimately have the ability to shape the country into something new by their presence in the seat of Command in Chief. And that's why it's so important a good president takes the seat.
During his tenure, the President is Commander in Chief of United States Armed Forces and is empowered to make treaties and appointments within the federal government (with Senate approval). He is also required to report to Congress annually on the state of the union, and may also propose legislation and veto bills. - Google

The President of the United States has many duties, including enforcing the law. The President is responsible for ensuring that the laws passed by Congress are carried out, and making treaties. The President can negotiate and sign treaties with other countries, but the Senate must ratify them. Vetoing and signing bills : the President can either sign a bill into law or veto it, but Congress can override a veto with a two-thirds vote in both houses.
Representing the nation : The President acts as the Chief Diplomat, representing the United States in talks with other countries.
Serving as Commander-in-Chief : The President is the head of the United States military and can command it during wartime.
The President also has other duties, including: Issuing executive orders, granting pardons and clemencies, advising Congress on legislative goals in the State of the Union address, appointing and removing executive officers, receiving ambassadors, convening or adjourning Congress, asking for written opinions from the Cabinet - More FROM GOOGLE
Seeing these roles - maybe some of you can see why the past 12 years of American government has been a complete joke with whose been in our president's seat.
For the last 9 years, it felt like our government and politicians themselves have felt like this election is a joke - putting clowns up for candidacy and then allowing fraudulent actions to affect those elections. And starting with the presidency where our only options were ...HILLARY AND TRUMP.... our country has ignited and lit itself on fire.
If This Wasn't The 21st-Century Civil War Would Have Began Back In 2016.
In the last 2 elections, and now this one, I have watched my countrymen go from being civilized humans to savage animals, tearing at each other with metaphorical fangs and claws. I have seen articles written with the intention of upsetting and ruining other human beings days. I have watched videos of people saying the most ugly things.
And I am guilty too. When I see someone actively defending and supporting Trump, I want to vomit on them and ask: How can you be so STUPID? Are you THAT gullible and easy to brainwash? You're so weak-minded that you actually believe all of that...horse shit? No...we CANT have a president that EVERY other country's leaders despise and want to kill. That's NOT safe for our country... oh no... oh... Please stop talking because your stupidity is making me feel physically ill...
But that would just be contributing to the problem, wouldn't it?
It is in absolutely NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM MY BUSINESS TO JUDGE OTHERS FOR WHO THEY SUPPORT.
Even if I do happen to wonder how you've managed to be brainwashed to think the most evil, and often times the most ignorant person in the country could make a good president. It's not my job to educate you on your own prerogatives. My job is to shut the hell up and respect you. Maybe you REALLY do think that Trump is... okay on some level and somehow good leadership. I'm SURE you have your reasons. There's probably no point in me trying to listen to them because I still can't process the fact that there are humans who are rooting for him, for MY own reasons.
My only concern should be how I can respectfully exit this conversation with you, so we can still be civil with each other. Because there's no reason to get *that* upset with another human being over something that I have no real power over the outcome anyway - and neither do they.
The truth is that getting upset and arguing is pointless. American votes hold NO REAL SWAY over who wins the presidency.
So... why the fudge biscuits are we all wasting our time, energy, motivation, life force, and stress on this election?
OH NO! I hear the OLD TIMERS getting riled up about how I'm saying our votes hold no sway - so let me JUST EXPLAIN! HOLD ON! Hear me out before you blow my brains out with your revolvers.
I am NOT saying that Americans shouldn't vote. I am just saying that our votes do not affect that actual presidential election itself.
That's not the way it's SUPPOSED to be. Our votes are SUPPOSED to matter, but anyone who thinks our government is working the way it's supposed to is very naive, very gullible, or is straight-out deluding themselves for the sake of their patriotism. And you need to get over it. You love America so much, but America doesn't give a shit about you, OR your rights, OR your needs, OR your votes. That is why we don't have free healthcare, and your diabetic uncle passed away from organ failure because he couldn't afford his insulin which cost him anywhere from $300 to $700 a month - WITH insurance. That's why your sister died last year from that ectopic pregnancy folks.
America - or rather its government officials - looks at its citizens like money symbols and cattle for slaughter. The only exception is the elite of wealth, fame, and power. And in the founding - they considered American citizens too stupid to vote for the president themselves.
Sorry to those of you whose feelings are very hurt by what I just said about our country. I don't live a lie for the sake of comfort or peace of mind. Never have, never will. I'm what they call a dream-killer. I'm too frank to not be honest about what I think, and most people can't handle that. I'm not nice. I'm honest. Because for 30 years being nice did nothing for me. And while I may hurt your feelings, kill your delusions, and burst your bubbles, I am also the most matter-of-fact, frank, forward, honest person you will EVER speak to. So understand when I say these offensive things - I am NOT happy about it.
This isn't me boasting or trying to hurt anyone's feelings. This is just the truth. Not only does our country not care about us - but one of their main focuses nowadays is to keep us divided as a nation, and to keep us arguing. A nation that has the right to overthrow its government can't DO THAT if they are too busy hating each other, right?
You should care for your state elections much MORE than the presidential elections.
I'm willing to bet a lot of people reading this, don't understand HOW IMPORTANT state representative elections are so important. And why you SHOULD be fighting with your STATESMEN about WHO is in in the house, representing your state.
Your votes directly decide your county representatives and leaders. Your state leaders are the ones who put up for state representatives within the government. You vote for them.
Their entire purpose during the presidential campaign is to vote for the president on your behalf. Each state has a different amount of representatives based on the POPULATION SIZE of the state they represent. The Senate has two representatives for each state - but the ELECTORAL COLLEGE is decided upon population size, plus the two representatives from the Senate.
Guess which branch is the one that ACTUALLY votes for the president?

The Electoral College consists of 538 electors. A majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the President. Your State has the same number of electors as it does Members in its Congressional delegation: one for each Member in the House of Representatives plus two Senators. - Archives.gov
When our democracy was founded, only caucasian men with land were allowed to vote. By doing this they were able to decide that a group would be the ones to vote for our president to represent our new country. Most had the idea that women and people of color were too stupid to understand what our country needed. So, the Electoral College was born. And THEY are the ones who have the power to decide our President.
How it is SUPPOSED to work:
During the election, American citizens go to the polls and cast their votes. These votes go to the electoral college and that tells California's 55 state voting reps the idea of who they want to vote for. Same with Texas's 50. And poor little Wyoming's 3 voting state reps. Remember, population-based. The bigger the territory, the more humans that can be packed in like sardines. And tiny states like Delaware, Wyoming, Vermont... their political power is less than 1% each.
How it ACTUALLY works:
Remember how... when this whole democracy system was created the white guys were like: They're too stupid to vote properly!
Did you...at any point in between that sentence and now think that mentality of the government has...changed? Hahaha...no? GOOD. Because that's exactly what's happening here.
Despite Texas having the majority of their major cities (Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth) being more towards the blue (democrat) in recent years... Those Texan state representatives thankfully know that you sheeple of Texas are just TOO DUMB to decide what you REALLY think for yourself, and so that state lights up redder than Santa's suit during election years.
Get it yet people?
We shouldn't be fighting over who is going to be president. It's out of our hands. Majority of our votes don't matter - because the real election power is in the hands of people who are already in power. And the game is RIGGED from the start.
How else would America get to the point that we have a convicted felon and confirmed sexual predator and a TRAITOR who committed treason during his first presidency - in the position to be president again? And how else would the elite convince us that any of that is okay? We've lost. Because now instead of focusing on what's important - we are too busy hating each other. And fighting, and doing nothing but spreading division and hate.
We've got to stop. No one really ever changes their mind when you debate with them anyway, so why bother?
Wasting time and energy, devaluing yourself and forgetting your own morals and ethic policies that you've set for yourself by getting on internet social platforms and ripping into other people. Most political debates start with polotis, but end in just hate mongering and name-smearing and outright verbal abuse. By the end of them, it's not even an intelligent conversation any more, just posts of who can make the worst insults at each other.
It's really pathetic. All I want is for my countrymen to remember how to respect each other - and focus on what matters. Because if we could stop fighting each other - we could FIX our country. And I don't mean by relying on the current people in power to do something to help us,
And maybe in the upcoming years, instead of focusing so hard on JUST the presidential election - we can stop arguing and being hateful to each other - and REALLY buckle down on those state elections.

The founding fathers put in a clause in our Declaration of Independence that explains what allows us to correct our government in times like this. But we can't do that if we're all too busy force-feeding each other hatorade. If we REALLY want to change - then we need to be that change. And instead of clinging to one politician or another, and smearing everything about it... why can't we unite and demand our country just start over?
My Call To Action This Election...
I'm calling authors of articles everywhere to start with the change. Instead of articles where you are belittling, besmirching or ranting about one politician or another, write more educational content about our Electoral College, how it works, and why the future STATE elections are much more impactful to our country's future than today's presidential election. And be a part of the solution. Don't contribute to the hate - spread the knowledge.
Please? Can we please respect each other even if we don't agree on their political view? I promise to work on it too.

This was an excellent piece. I fear we are in such a downslide that, as you said, began several years ago, and we are doomed no matter who wins this election. Despite that fact, I have hope that he whom I won't deign to call President either, won't be at the helm after this year.
