I just recently wrote an obit for myself. This might be a fun challenge...Here is my take https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/if-i-wrote-my-own-obit%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cstyle data-emotion-css="w4qknv-Replies">.css-w4qknv-Replies{display:grid;gap:1.5rem;}
My name is Taylor Ward I write about life, love and loss with many metaphors and much joy. I am able to turn the trauma and adversity in my life into vivid poems. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/spectral-echoes%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E A writer I recommend you read is Cindy Calder. She also writes thought provoking work.
I just read this by Tina D'Angelo...It is hilariously funny but very true. https://shopping-feedback.today/humor/turning-70%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Raising my voice (uh hu) I have been writing on self-help non fiction for 4 years. Previously I used to write on substack. This year i shifted to Vocal. This year, I started publishing my poems on Vocal too. Check out my stories. I check out every person's stories who subscribe to or comment on my stories. Recently I've been enjoying L.C. Shäfer's work a lot.
A bit late, but I found the perfect one. I think most of the poets here can relate to thisđ https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/should-i-rhyme%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Nice to see three of my recommendations are now Top Stories. I know I complain a lot about Vocal but glad I can have a tiny effect for others
Hi, I'm Jaye. I write primarily literary fiction short stories (and working on two full-length novels), and I use the Vocal platform to stretch myself as a writer. I have three stories that really caught my eye this time: - "A World From Mine" by Emem Ini - it's a serial about a young woman who is battling cancer. The health fight the MC is going through, as well as her relationship with her father, are quite moving. https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/a-world-from-mine%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E (part 1) - "What If...Instead Of A Bear... It Was Coyotes?" by Hope Martin - This is a raw, insightful, and real take on the "Bear or Man" question that is the talk of social media. https://shopping-feedback.today/viva/what-if-instead-of-a-bear-it-was-coyotes%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E - "Unconvincing Beauty" by Bitter - this short piece focuses on self-image, and I found it incredibly relatable. https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/unconvincing-beauty%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
I ought also to encourage all and sundry to read this astonishing tribute to Vocal creators by the inimitable Paul Stewart: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/magister-operis-epici-ode-ad-creatores-vocales%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
If you havenât yet read this series by Suze Kay, do yourself a favor and read it. One of the best Iâve ever read: https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/women-who-stay-1%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
This potent poem, by Zara, has already earned Top Story laurels and richly merits your attention as well: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/today-ybho0a6w%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Yo la, people, of Vocal. Paul here blah blah. Here are a few I picked out Call it what you will but, I love this poem by Ruth Stewart - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/broken-bone-breakup%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E DK Shepard made me feel sad, cry and warmth with her amazing take on the Lipogram challenge - https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/peaceful-places%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Rachel Deeming brought to light a really timely and tough subject with her micro here - https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/riot-cr007r9%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Love this little poem by DJ Reddall - gives you lot of stuff to think about - https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/the-corridor-nw300bh0%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Many may have had a chance to read Heather Hubler's recent but if not I am dropping it as she inspired me very much https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/speaking-in-code%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
I don't like to get involved in serialisations much, it's like agreeing to read a book without any idea how long it is or what it's about, but I embarked on this series from John because he doesn't post that often, so I like to have a read when he does. I'm way behind having been a bit busy this week (school holidays, innit) but I read a couple more episodes today. I can't vouch for the whole thing, I'm only on episode three, but episode two has such a brilliantly expressed journey, and I'm intrigued to keep going. https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/the-fair-exchange-part-2%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

I'm glad this came around today. I find myself using the new homescreen to spend my time reading those to which I subscribe, and have missed many new (legitimate) creators. I'll do better- please do come back in two weeks and allow me to redeem myself!
Thanks for sharing this
