Losses
A submission for the nonet challenge.

Mom said you would break my heart someday
I should have listened to her then
You asked me to marry you
He asked you the same thing
You left me behind
One week later
I lost you
Mom, too.
Damn.

This is a feeler. Congrats on top story.
very emotional. Nice work seems so wrong to say, but this is wonderful.
Ouch Jonathon! Feeling the pain. Is this true?
Damn is right. So, so heartwrenching and powerful. I’m very sorry for your loss ♥️
Heartfelt, poignant, and very well expressed- thank you for sharing this deeply feeling piece! And congrats on a well-deserved Top Story! :)
This hits really hard. Nicely done
NICE
Very sad poem but very good.
Good one congrats on the to story
Such a heartbreaking piece. You really met the challenge well. Congrats on the top story.
Brilliant and to the point. The point being the heart! Such real pain.
Such an emotionally wrought nonet poem. Congratulations on the Top Story.
This really hit me. I think it's that "Damn" at the end which is such an understatement compared to the pain of the loss, like saying more would lead to you not keeping yourself together. And if you fell apart, who could blame you? Heartbreaking. Hugs.
What an appalling time. I'm so sorry.
So sad and breathtaking
Damn.
Oh my heart hurts reading that one ... amazing piece and so powerful! 🩷
Oh no! I'm sorry if you lost your mom but the other one, bye bye.
