2026 Reading Challenge, Anyone?
Well, here we are. Another year gone, another New Year's Eve, another New Year's resolution. I don't know about you, but for me, 2025 has been one hell of a year. Between the nasty political crap and - well, if you've read my poetry this year, you know. This isn't about that. This is about the good things that have taken place for me this year, and, hopefully, a small way that you and I can stay connected.

Lilly opens her bedroom door. Hallway light slants across the grey carpet, illuminating the corner of her Barbie blanket against the bedpost. Beside it is a narrow strip of darkness, where the monster has been watching for the past three nights. Waiting to feed.

As all of us are aware, AI-generated content is a massive thorn in the heels of genuine authors and web platforms alike. It's posted on social media sites, blogs, and even printed media. One of our Vocal members, Judey Kalchik, has done a ton of legwork on this issue (and many others) and has already given plenty of tips on how to detect it. You can find her articles on it here. For now, I'd like to focus on what we should do when we think we've spotted AI being used.
