We got three for 33. This installment includes two track and field athletes that we've featured in previous issues and a basketball social media star that is long overdue in being celebrated among this outstanding group of women.
We're in the final month of the summer and as we power through August, we are honored to present these powerful ladies!
Alexis Holmes
Yes we just featured her in issue number 31, but the dominant SEC and Big Ten 400-meter dash champion just brought it on Instagram. Her stunning shots showing off the the beach bod tells the world that she's not slacking in fitness during the global pandemic.
As for a little more on her athletic accomplishments, Alexis Holmes is three-for-three in 400 meters conference championship finals. At the indoor championship during her freshman season at Penn State, Holmes finished ahead of seniors Briana Guilory of Iowa and Karrington Winters of Ohio State. Guilory was the defending champ.
After winning the Big Ten outdoor title she moved on to the SEC where as a sophomore she beat out a formidable opponent in junior Stephanie Davis of South Carolina. When track and field resumes, Holmes is our hands down pick to win the NCAA indoor and outdoor championships in the 400-meter dash. Look for some records to fall as well.
Allison Johnson
Allison Johnson has been a social media darling for some time now. With over 170,000 followers, the former college hooper for Georgia State has been turning heads on and off the court.
On the court, Johnson, a six-foot forward had her best season as a junior in 2018-19. She averaged 11.7 points per game and shot a career best 48 percent from the field in 27 games. Johnson was named Newcomer of the Year and second team all-conference.
Her final season was short as she only competed in eight games. Despite that, she did have some good moments in the 2019-20 season. In her final game she grabbed 12 rebounds. As for the future, it looks like she's headed for a career in business as she recently kicked off an Instagram page for her company Shop Bomb, which specializes in beauty, cosmetic and personal care.
Autumn Santos
Autumn Santos is back on our list again. The All-American sprinter out of Minnesota State is using her time these days to lead those who want to be fit with workouts on her YouTube channel.
Three of her first four videos show people how to workout with no equipment. With exercises like the Inchworm Push-Up Combo, Climber Knee Taps, Single Leag Tricep Dips and Bulgarian Split Squats it's easy to see how Santos keeps her physique looking great even though she's left the sport behind.
