____________________________ You floated into my life when it was all shades of gray. A leaf fallen onto a forest that had been totally razed. -- My outlook was bleak and my will all but diminished, but you and your colors showed me I was far from finished. -- My ashes were many and my ground all singed and dry you were like a flood on of love raining down from the sky. -- Soon I rejoice in your colors and moist nurturing hug as you covered me with new beauty like a velvety rug. -- With you I found new life and a way that was brilliant. I learned I was not dead but much alive and resilient. -- Colors may fade but what you gave me will never you made me come alive and thrive and our ties will not be lost, no, not ever. ____________________________

_________________________________ Have you seen Matlock yet? No, not that Matlock! That’s right, there’s a fresh 2024 version of Matlock coming your way. If you were hoping to see Andy Griffith reprise his role as Ben Matlock from the original 1986 series, you might want to adjust your expectations because that was a while ago. In early January 2024, it was revealed that a remake of Matlock is set to start production in October 2024. The show is being developed by Jennie Snyder Urman, who has worked on some amazing series like Gilmore Girls, 90210, Emily Owens, M.D., Jane the Virgin, Reign, and Charmed. Not only has she penned the first episode of Matlock, but she’s also taking on the role of executive producer for CBS Studios.

Gotta love a strong woman!
I've always had a soft spot for strong female characters on TV. Back when I was about 8, my mom and I would order takeout from our favorite Mexican place and settle in for the Saturday night lineup. It kicked off with one of my idols from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, followed by the legendary Carol Burnett, who I consider the Queen of American comedy (I say American because I firmly believe that Catherine Tate holds the title for Queen of British comedy and Ruth Jones for Queen of Welsh comedy). When Carol would give her iconic wink at the end of the show, signaling her kids it was bedtime, my mom would also wink at me and say, “you know what that means, kiddo!” And off to bed I would go.

I'm dying the slow death drowning in a sea of people I don't know, never wanted to know, because there's only ever been you, you who sings to my soul, calling me back, yet never quite wanting me. I struggled through the crowd to find you, knowing full well you don't want to be found, at least not by me. I feel my determination waning away, my mind pulled under by unknown voices my body sucked into an unfamiliar crowd. I close my eyes imagining your hand as a Lifeboat, pulling me to you, but you're not here, not really. and I sink slowly into a loud yet voiceless crowd. _____________
