I miss you.
I'm dying
the slow death
drowning in a sea
of people I don't know,
never wanted to know,
because there's only
ever been you,
you who sings to my soul,
calling me back,
yet never quite
wanting me.
I struggled
through the crowd
to find you,
knowing
full well
you don't
want to be found,
at least
not by me.
I feel my
determination
waning away,
my mind
pulled under
by unknown voices
my body sucked
into an
unfamiliar crowd.
I close my
eyes imagining
your hand
as a Lifeboat,
pulling me to you,
but you're not here,
not really.
and I sink slowly
into a loud yet
voiceless crowd.

I was really in love with the girl I wrote this for. Her name was Puna. She was a beautiful girl from Hawaii. but she wasn't all sweet & innocent. She was one of those kind of girls who could whip you in shape with a raise of an eyebrow. And I was smitten for a very long time. It seemed like it took forever get over her.
Hi Sam Gentle words and cadence reflect a wretched sadness. Beautifully crafted. ‘and I sink slowly into a loud yet voiceless crowd.’ Pauline 🌸
Loud yet voiceless crowd, I especially loved that!
You captured the sense of isolation well, Sam.
The way you capture that feeling of being surrounded but alone is so heartbreaking. Really moving piece!
Very impressive! Great Worl 👍💥
