This poem was inspired by a person, a prompt and a quote. Today the wonderful Haiku of Heather Zieffle , a prompt of "First Kiss" and a quote of “Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” by Thich Nhat Hanh that came up in my writers.com work group. All 3 inspired this poem.
________________
I blow the dandelion
into the air
seeds of my breath
search for you everywhere.
The market street in Istanbul,
The Bosporus Ferry
with it's air so cool,
The Blue Mosque and it's call to pray
periodically playing citywide
throughout the day.
The park where your children play
and laugh and sing which is their way
The seeds, they rush yet flow both
slow and fast
my kiss upon them meant to last
for any raging storm or sunny day
won't cause them a bit of delay.
Another first kiss I send to you
on wings of nature's first bloom
to soar and fly on my exhale
through the air to you they sail.
They won't get lost because this kiss
is preordained as such, to seek you out
and feel your touch.
The question is who'll find you first
me or my breath on sailing seeds for
to race to your side is all I need.
