Red light, green light. Invisible speakers clicked on. “Welcome my trients to your first game. Red light, green light. The rules are simple. When the light is red you don’t move. When it’s green you run to the finish. Only 20 trients can finish the game. If you move when the light is red you’ll be eliminated. Have fun!

There was a third keeper with a paintbrush. He was painting the symbol on the man’s door in thick red paint. Then I realized it wasn’t paint. As I continued down the hallway a saw more and, more of these gruesome symbols. I assumed this meant that whoever occupied these rooms were now dead.

With nothing better to do, I just watched the timer. Fifty minutes………. Forty-five- Suddenly a scream erupted from a keep no we’re near my own. I heard footsteps then it was deathly silent. All I could understand was that it was a woman. I laid down, heart still throbbing, and watched the timer.

The Pale Demons
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. No one knew how long ago the cabin had been built, but it had been abandoned longer than I’ve been alive. Occasionally hikers’ reports would come out about a suspicious glow coming from the direction of the cabin. Hikers even claimed to find the source of the light. It seemed that no one dared to approach the dilapidated and presumably haunted hut.

The Dragons of Kanta Valley
There weren’t always dragons in the valley, but some people used to say it was chaos before the dragons appeared. Man fighting man. Bloody battles for territory. Then the dragons awoke but some kings saw them as monsters and attacked. The dragon’s scales were impenetrable against all attacks, so it forced the king’s to retreat. That was a few hundred years ago. Now no kings rule and the people of Kanta live isolated in their valley but are perfectly happy with it . My name is Monica Fern Krimsom. I am fourteen and right now me and my best friend Rebecca Oak Peterson are listening to the oldest elder and retired farmer Karson Nick
