There was a time when I surrounded myself with many names, many borrowed laughs, many “I love you’s” with expiration dates.
And not for the act itself, but for the origin of the wound. We were not born thieves. We were born with open hands and hearts ready to share bread.
They always told us: Tell me who you walk with, and I’ll tell you who you are, as if the soul could be infected by someone else’s path,
Since we were children, they tamed us, taught us to stay still, not to chase what burned inside, because it was dangerous,
This saying dates back to ancient times, from warriors and laws seeking balance. The idea was clear: the harm you cause will be returned in equal measure.
As a child, I dreamed of being happy. I didn’t yet know what that happiness would bring. I only had that feeling. That thought.
Some never learned from books, nor from classroom walls. They learned by living. In intense conversations that didn’t always end well.
There are voices that don’t deserve an echo, opinions born from lack disguised as absolute truths. They watch you. They mock.
The soul whispers this to a wounded being. A whisper that sounds like relief, but in truth is poison disguised as comfort.
