Eyes That Don’t See, Heart That Doesn’t Feel (Out of sight, out of mind)
This poem belongs to Chapter 2: Latin American Popular Sayings with a Soulful Adaptation.

The soul whispers this to a wounded being.
A whisper that sounds like relief,
but in truth is poison disguised as comfort.
An elegant way to betray without carrying the blame.
Because if the other doesn’t know, who really hurts, right?
But the soul sees.
God sees you.
Sees what isn’t said,
feels what isn’t confessed,
and burns with the truths hidden behind smiles.
Who told you emotional blindness is innocence?
You burn with other people’s purposes,
betray your neighbor,
making them feel joys you know aren’t true.
And yet, you choose to keep the lie going.
They taught you, “Eyes that don’t see, heart that doesn’t feel.”
But the eyes of the soul never stop seeing.
And when the soul can no longer turn a blind eye, you start to fall ill.
Your gaze dims,
your chest closes.
Betrayal carries weight,
and a very real one.
Even if it’s unspoken,
the truth doesn’t need witnesses to hurt.
When will you realize what you’re doing is wrong?
Usually, the one hurt is someone innocent,
someone pure.
When will you see you also carry that purity inside?
It’s not necessary to hide truths to provoke smiles.
You don’t need blindness to awaken your innocence.
You can also live from the most genuine truth of your soul.
If you ever doubt,
look in the mirror—
not the one that shows your face,
but the one that reflects your soul.
Ask yourself if you could endure the same.
Ask if what you hide is really love,
or just fear in disguise.
Because the soul always knows,
and when you finally face yourself,
that reflection begins to transform.
The perfect alchemy that turns your reflection
into a living refraction
of what you truly carry inside.
Let your truth come to the surface:
not your polished lie,
not your practiced smile,
but your essence.
Your soul undressing without fear.
Your redemption taking shape.
Your awakening in its fullest expression.
