Haikuplet Winners!. Top Story - August 2024.
Before we get to the winners, I want to give a HUGE shout out to everyone who participated in this unofficial challenge. I had 25 entries to read, and all were wonderful! Think of all the community involvement with 25 different Haikuplets! Thanks to all of you, I thought this challenge was a smashing success.

Secrets and Betrayals
Bryan loved to run almost as much as he hated arguments. Naturally, the former often followed the latter. A casual jog through the county park, a set of headphones, and some rock and roll tunes usually worked to drown out the constant clamor that bounced around the ol’ cerebrum whenever Dena chose to serve up one of her lectures.

Take Me With You. Top Story - June 2024.
I've been here, my love. Watching, waiting. I've wanted to come to you, but I can't seem to break free of these wrought iron bars. You must have looked upon my face at least a hundred times these last few months, yet your face never once lit up for me. Not the way I know mine does for you. It's like you didn't recognize me anymore.

Gothic Story Winners!
Last month, I created one of my own unofficial contests here on Vocal. The 'Gothic Stories' challenge garnered quite a few entries. Reading them all was a real pleasure, not least because I got to read stories from a few "new" writers I hadn't been exposed to. All the submissions were good, and picking the winners wasn't easy. Thank you so much to everyone who left me a story to read! I truly appreciate you getting involved and making this one of my happiest experiences on this platform.
