~This is meant to be a slam poem, so it is a spoken word piece. Read it out loud for the best experience 😊~
We all hold the fire it boils deep inside
but it is often hard to see, because sometimes it hides
They want to hold me down, no courage to be found
But I will speak my truth- I will show you resolute.
They say I should be quite, they want me to be demure-
They say I should be seen, seen and not heard.
But I am not a soft summer day or a sweet spring rain- I am a tsunami, I am a hurricane!
We hold the fire, and nothing will stop that flame
I will share my light with the world and hope you do the same.
