Prompts
The Book of Questions. Top Story - June 2025.
Gregory Stock’s The Book of Questions prompts — If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be? In what ways will you treat (or have you treated) your children differently from the way you were treated? If you’ve already raised children and could do it again, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?

Difficult Questions To Answer?
Gregory Stock, Ph.D. The Book of Questions prompts - If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to? Do you think your friends would agree with one another about the kind of person you are? How much energy do you spend doing things to favorably impress other people? If you were completely unconcerned about what others would think, what sorts of things might you do? How do you feel when people like you because they think you are someone you are not?

My Favorite Teachers
Natalie Goldberg's Writing Down the Bones Deck prompts - Tell me about a favorite teacher. My favorite teacher, who was in my life for about fifteen years, was a fourth-grade nun. She was constantly moving her fingers on the larger rosary she had hanging at her side. She shared stories of her marriage to Jesus. She gave me bookmarks with stories of the saints.

Running Man Press
It was a dark and rainy day... Okay, apologies over the whole 'It was a dark and stormy night' cliché, but I discovered over the Victoria Day weekend that one of my stories became front page news in a journal called the Running Man Press. The interesting thing is that I had almost forgotten that I had written and submitted the piece (the editor who said that he would inform me of the date of publication never contacted me about the issue). I have also discovered that it is not available online (the page I found advertised how to submit, the fact that they only print 5000 copies per issues - a smart idea, I think - and that they have many wonderful t-shirts and other doodads available to support their cause).

My Three Friends And The Foods My Mother Cooked
Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones Deck prompts — “I had three friends. I still keep up with two of them.” (The Round House, Louise Erdrich) Erdrich was in deep concentration writing this wonderful book. Why not start by using her line as a topic? See where it goes. Ten minutes. You might want to read the book too. It’s good.
