The 6:17 to Somewhere New. Winner in The Second First Time Challenge.
Marc hadn’t taken the 6:17 PM train in nearly two years. Not since he left the job he thought he’d die in, not since Elise had walked out with the last of their shared plants and all the warmth from the apartment. Not since he stopped believing in rhythms - that predictable cadence of departure and return that used to structure his weeks like a heartbeat.

SCOTUS vs LGBTQ
What is the purpose of schools? To educate the next generation of citizens for our country. To prepare them to become a functional member of society. When you live in a country created from a diverse set of cultures, then schools need to prepare the next generation to collaborate with a diverse workforce. Most educators would agree with this ideology of education and design classrooms to accommodate a diverse range of students from any background and culture. On June 27, 2025 the Supreme Court ruled against diversity, excluding LGBTQ+ representation in public schools.

Tick Tock. Content Warning.
This is part of Step into Echoes Beyond the Veil with Pookie & Vicki After we connected with our ancestors, my dad, and her mom I thought how thin the veil is and how the earth is spinning faster, this had to be written. It is other, time zones, tick tock clocks of time & space, birth, death, and closed & open doors. This is truth, fiction, and science fiction written in words regarding living, and the fantasy of time.

Mere~Words
'Dictionary' Words can't Hurt you:*BritBudBook Reviews, Rachel & Annie, and Cj Thanks for the 'Word.' Whatever happened to the expression "Sticks & Stones will break your bones, but mere words will never hurt you?" At what stage do you 'Go over the Line' or do folks look for any 'interpretation' they just choose to select at the time? There are those that make a living ranting-randomly by putting their targets under a microscope. But, of course, you know that!

90s Hidden Gems: The Soft Bulletin-The Flaming Lips
The Soft Bulletin- (1999) The Flaming Lips The Flaming Lips are an interesting band with quite the expansive history of weird things, such as dancing aliens in Christmas costumes at their concerts, to a shower of balloons coming down on the audiences, to an album that was meant entirely for each track to be played synchronized with each other on many different stereos at once. Book Review: "High Crime Area" by Joyce Carol Oates
Yes, it's another JCO book and yes, it's another short story anthology. Why? Well, I've been to a new library and the only one I haven't read in terms of JCO novels from this place is called High Crime Area. I hope I get some more because I honestly do not have the money to buy all of her books. Perhaps one or two, but she hasn't written one or two has she? She's still writing more as we speak and well - I'm never going to have enough money at this rate. Let's take a look at High Crime Area, a short story anthology by Joyce Carol Oates.

The Room for Eliza. Runner-Up in You Were Never Really Here Challenge. Content Warning.
At the end of the hall, there’s a room we don’t talk about. Mother calls it the “Sewing Room”. She says it in the same tone she uses when talking about frozen casseroles or tax deadlines; blunt, flat, leaving no room for a second opinion. The “Sewing Room” hasn’t seen a spool of thread in, at least, thirteen years; a blatant lie, so we don’t talk about it long.
