Aurora's Embrace
Kissing couplets for the "Light Breaks Water" challenge
Heaven's open boudoir emits an eerie harlequin glow
Lithely sliding over the darkened glass sheet below
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Viridescent ribbon, radiance dances aloft
Velvet reflections, delicate, feather soft
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
No harsh beaming shafts of illumination
Clandestine kiss in the gloaming, free of hesitation
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The instant absinthe lips inevitably meet
Chrysolite angel wings flap and beat
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Whispers perceived with the faculty of sight
Ripples cast in absolute silence release a shiver of delight
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Star-crossed lovers in parallel repose
Flares of desire fuel chartreuse flows
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Coruscating across the northern sky
Forbidden tryst, brazenly meeting at eventide
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Evanescent peridot veil undulating
Quavering essence caresses the maiden awaiting
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Pulsing with vibrant, vacillating, verdigris
Transmitting a mirrored presence, absorbed by the Stygian sea
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Sheer curtains close at the setting of the storm
Solar winds rustle, drawn at dawn on sheer lime cords

This felt dreamy and super surreal. I love the format and how everything flowed so beautifully. Congratulations on your top story, KB! I am rooting for this poem as a contender in the Light Breaks Water Challenge!
Well deserved Top Story… & excellent challenge entry. I didn’t manage to dream anything up for it.
Delightful, playful and tantalizing! Loved this!
This is like the Northern Lights got together with a love poem and decided to throw a masquerade ball!
Congrats on your Top Story. Well deserved
Your words touched me more deeply than I expected—sometimes we write through pain, and sometimes we heal through someone else’s. Thank you for reminding me that stories like ours matter. I’m also someone who writes from a place of struggle and silent strength. Following you now—and I’d be honored if you ever visit my corner of Vocal too. We rise when we lift each other.
Your beautiful poem called to mind A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in its playful otherworldliness ❤️
Very well written
Cerebral poem. Stunning words usage.
I am new please support
Great
An exquisite symphony of light and language—each couplet shimmered like the aurora itself. Ethereal, sensual, and beautifully evocative. Truly a poetic embrace. 🌌🕯️
This feels like watching light move through silk. It's lush, strange, and full of mystery. You paint with atmosphere as much as words.
