controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
Children of a Common Mother, What Happened? . Content Warning.
I was born in Canada, and despite travelling around the globe and considering moving to different parts of the world at various points, I will stay in Canada. I will share a few basic thoughts on why the unfortunate mess is raging with our closest neighbours.

There is more than meets the eye in El Salvador.
Pacific Ocean beaches, volcanoes, coffee farms, Mayan Ruins. There is more than meets the eye with El Salvador. Human rights violations, U.S. deportations, Venezuelans, "the world's coolest dictator," and an American King. Typically, when you search online for a Central American country, you get a bunch of images of beautiful beaches, jungles, and travel options. Right now, you get a bunch of political news stories about jails in El Salvador and where our self-declared king is threatening to send people. The new relationship between the United States and El Salvador marks a turning point in our history. This isn't just about jails and immigration policies. This is a clear indication of the direction we are headed in. We aren’t sailing into a storm. We're already in one, and we're hanging on for dear life.

Trump: What's The Point?. Content Warning.
Before and after Trump came into office the 'POTUS' promised peace would come on his watch. He said, during the Biden administration, that the Hamas-Israel and the Ukrainian-Russian conflict would not have happened, on His watch.

Ashfield: A Guinea Pig Town.. Content Warning.
Sir Keir Starmer says the welfare bill is "Indefensible". He will shake up the system to cut welfare spending, strengthen efforts to get people into work and protect those who cannot work. This massive bill that could be better spent elsewhere or saved for something better, makes sense. This policy is very Conservative which goes hand in hand with my article. Yesterday when I said Sir Keir, was heading right politically. The effort to claim PIP to help the sick in their daily lives is already tough to get onto. Now the Prime Minister aims to make it even tougher. So the question is, is he doing that to ensure only the illest amongst us get it or conversely, to save money? Possibly, it is both but one cannot say with any assurance.

Starmer Heads Right?. Content Warning.
No one would have believed when Labour won the general election in July that Sir Keir would move to the right. Sir Keir promised something completely different (to quote Monty Python) from what had gone before. Sir Keir was to have a human rights view on foreign policy. Sir Keir promised to bin everything the Tories had done before. Sir Keir, promised a "politics of service" upon entering office. Sir Keir inherited broken public services, overflowing prisons, and that old chestnut: immigration.

The War on Drugs Is Over—So Why Are People Still in Prison for Weed?
The Legal Weed Paradox Cannabis is now legal for recreational use in 24 states and for medical purposes in even more. It’s a strange twist of fate that investors, corporations, and former politicians are cashing in on a plant that once led to countless arrests. Meanwhile, thousands of people—especially from Black and Latino communities—are still behind bars for nonviolent cannabis offenses.

Will Putin Accept Trump Peace Deal?. Content Warning.
The Russians are gaining more territory in Ukraine. The Russians have threatened action against foreign troops in Ukraine. Sir Keir Starmer said Western boots might be on the ground. Of course, both sides in this conflict have to agree to that. The Ukrainians wouldn't have a problem with that as that would be helpful to them. As for the Russians, that would be a massive "NO". In any ceasefire agreed to by both sides, the UK and France might deploy troops into Ukraine (if and it is a big 'IF' if the Russians agree). Conversely, the Americans have opted not to do that in any ceasefire agreement.
