Meet VICU
My name is VICU. I was born in Romania then adopted and brought to Washington D.C. I currently live in Maryland traveling back and forth to Los Angeles. I really love what I do because it gives me as a creative a way to build something from nothing and Channel my thoughts and emotions in a very effective way. It’s my emotional filter. I knew from a very young age around 5 years old that this was my passion. My mother would play lots of classical music to help me sleep and when I’d wake up. I had gotten to hear a lot of different styles of music such as country, pop,RnB, Rock ect. Pop and RnB really stood out to me in a different kind of way. i felt deeply connected to the more soulful styles of singing and eventually began to build an ear for vocal arrangement and pitch. My artistry being “different”or “Authentic” is always the goal but in the end I think what separates me from everybody else is simply the way I get across the emotions I feel and how I interpret are them which in turn gives me an authentic sound back. When i try to explain my sound to people i can be difficult at times because I’ve been told i sound like a lot of different things that i might have not thought. For example I spoke to artist Pink $wears about a year ago and he send me this message upon hearing my song BTTFL, His message read “ Reminded me a tiny bit of Justin Bieber and Chainsmokers mixed with the weekend Which means jack shit cuz u are ur own person and ur own artist but I mean keep going ur songs will only get better ur voice is nice Jew writing and writing u will come across ur song that changes ur life and I wish u the best on ur journey brother “. In the next 5 years I’m going to have a Grammy if not multiple. I plan on having written and collaborated with some of my favorite creatives such as Justin Bieber, Chris brown, Post Malone, pink $weats, Tone Stith ect… also would love to create a musical theater play, phantom of the opera is something I love to pull from as an artist and would love to create something with phantoms longevity and give back to the arts as it’s given much to myself. It’s really great what I’ve been able to accomplish in my career thus far but I think my biggest accomplishment I look forward to in my life is starting a family of my own and being able to have music be my only job. As a creative I primarily grew up on artists that really were capable of doing it all. I’ve taken on the role of the singer, songwriter, producer and audio engineer. I feel by bringing forth music to the mainstream where the artist really does it all that might help to inspire others to continue learning and embrace being a student of the game as we all are at every level of music. When I pass I want to be remembered for being somebody who helped others reach their goals and aspirations as I did for myself and be remembered for being unapologetically myself in an industry where so many forget who they truly are and live for others. I want to be remembered as somebody who inspires that kid sitting in his bedroom with his first guitar to build with it and never stop building. I also want to do alot for children who are in orphanages and are in need of being adopted. I often imagine the next great entertainer, scientist or Inventor is sitting waiting for a chance to grow and develop to be that person for the world and I want to be remembered for helping to give those children a chance to do that.
