When you don't know where to go, hop on a Train
Dreams, hopes, goals, and visions of the future. We're constantly being fed the old trope of, "follow your dreams." But no one tells us which dream to follow, or how to even begin the process of chasing something as ambiguous as a hope. Visions are vague, at best. And goals mean nothing if you don't actively follow steps to achieve them. But let's face it. When it comes to what you want for your future, everyone else is happy to grant you their blessings, so long as nothing more is required.

5 Things You Can Do Now to Create a Better 2021
2020 is finally over. Though if you are like me, you felt like it would never end. If you are like me, you felt like last year took more from you than you had to give. Between the Covid-19 crisis, unemployment, civil unrest, evictions and so much more; there were many times where I did not even want to get out of bed.

A Prisoner Of Your Past
Every single one of us make mistakes in life. Fact! Several times we make decisions in our life which we later regret, and in hindsight, we wish we hadn't have made them at all. Having said that, a lot of these mistakes have led us on a different path in life, and we have perhaps received blessings and rewards we may never have obtained, had it not been for making those wrong decisions in the first place, that is at least if we choose to view it in such a positive frame of mind. Many people fail to view it in such a way however, and they simply cannot let go of these poor or incorrect decisions, and move on with their life. Perhaps there have been decisions that others have made, that we reflect on, which have negatively impacted us, and we cannot let go of, such as a relationship/marital split, or a manager firing us from our job. It's unfortunate that so many of us hold on to these decisions and circumstances, and we either never learn to forgive ourselves, or we never forgive those who hurt us. The images of these moments regularly flash through our mind, as we continually run through different scenarios of how we should have handled the situation or moment better, or what we should have said, written, or done different. If only we had our time over again, hey? Regret may even come off the back of non-decisions, passing up opportunities that could have transformed our life for the better. One of the biggest regrets that people have, when on their death bed, is that they failed to spend more time with the people they love; their family, their children, their parents, their friends, and their partner. Many spend their life too wrapped up and overcommitted to their work and other commitments, that they end up sacrificing such valuable and precious time with their loved ones, when their loved ones should've taken priority. Some people even hold on to the past because they reflect on all the happy memories, all the good times, and all the fun they had, in comparison to their current life, which has become void of such happiness and enjoyment. They become sad and depressed over missing their past.

We Should All Resolve to Appreciate What We Have.
Every year millions of people die of diseases that could have been prevented if only they had kept their New Years Resolutions. Millions more die from events that were out of their control. Life is always rough on people with diabetes, obesity and Heart Disease. This past year many of them took their last painful breaths alone. This past year saw a record number of people passing away without anyone to hold their hands. A record number of people were unable to visit sick relatives in the hospital or attend in person funerals. We are surrounded by people dealing with grief and financial problems. Try to cut people some slack when they act a little grumpy in public. The pain of losing a loved on often last more than a whole year. Resolve to be gentle with yourself. The grieving won't last forever.

Think Positive Thoughts
Life delivers constant challenges, adversities, pressure, and pain, there's no disputing that. We seem to forever have something on our mind that concerns and worries us, whether it be our children, our job, our financial situation, our health, our relationship, our lifestyle, or whatever it may be. It's like we manage to solve one problem, to free our mind, and another one pops up almost immediately. Much of the time, the circumstances and situations we find ourselves in, are as a result of our past decisions, yet are within our control, meaning we simply need to make further decisions to resolve the issues we are confronting. Other times, there are circumstances and situations we find ourselves in that are beyond our control, and we are powerless to change or impact. Either way, both these set of circumstances and situations can cause us immense stress, even to the point where it begins to have a negative impact on our health, especially our mental health. So how do we combat stress? How do we relieve ourselves of all this mental pressure that builds up? The first thing to do is to assess whether the cause of our stress is something we have the ability to change. It may be that we are desperately struggling to pay our bills, and we never seem to have enough money, a common issue for many people. The question is, what are we genuinely doing about it? Are we seeking ways to be generating a higher income? Are we stepping out of our comfort zone and asking for help? Are we genuinely living within our means? There's never an easy road out of adversity, and it's entirely up to us to overcome it. If that means making decisions and executing actions that are uncomfortable, awkward, difficult, risky, and even those in which others do not approve, then so be it. If we have the power to overcome the adversity, then that's the only way to remove the stress it is causing us.

Fresh Start
Let me just start off saying, Last year, 2020 took us all by surprise. No one expected the year to come in like a flood. Most people prepared for their New Year resolution in 2020 and the Pandemic was not one to make the list, Okay. Like, who would have thought a year could be so full of devastation, hurt, pain, and so depressing? Not me. I saw myself enjoying and vacationing with my family, going full force with promoting my Jewelry business. “Favored Jewels in Season” is the name of my business, by the way you could shop my site online at favoredjewelsinseason.com shop our Zi Collection it is like the best. So, what was I saying, lol oh yeah! Like 2020 was the worst and best all at the same time. It was the best year because it pushed me to be better than I was before. I made healthy life changes for myself, saved a little money, and started a new profession as a writer. Cool, right? The year 2020 brought out gifts and talents that were lying dormant for years in me. I certainly believe that we are long due for a refresher after all the chaos. I am not going to say that I have a New Year resolution to stick to this year, However, I will say that I’m coming into the New Year with a mindset to just go with the flow, to take it one day at a time. I believe that whatever your dreams and passions are, work hard at it, and pray over everything. This year in 2021 I want what I do to be purposeful and meaningful. I do not want to just do things, just to be doing it. Resolutions get sucked up in life’s unknown and many circumstances that can occur at any moment. So why create resolutions when we can just live out our sole purpose and run the race of endurance? My fresh start will be for me to take it one day at a time, not to be so hard on myself, choosing not to compete with anyone, but focusing on what I was originally born to do. I am a creative and creatives create right? We believe our gifts will make room for us. Everyone has a place where they fit in this life, but it is up to self to find out where that is. Who knows all that the New Year will bring? However, we must strive to make the best of it. Hey, I say, “Get into it”. Live, Laugh, Love again and just be happy. Do not allow people to steal your joy. We choose our own happiness. Yes, of course, we will face some troublesome times ahead, but trouble does not last always. Get up, dust yourself off, and keep running the race. So, this year, I reiterate I am moving at a steady pace, not too fast and not too slow. Remember the story about, “The Tortoise and The Hare”? This story is an Aesop fable story. The story was based on two opponents with unequal abilities to win a race. However, although the tortoise was slow in speed and the hare was fast in speed it did not stop the tortoise from winning the race. The Hare was over- confident about winning the race because he looked at his opponent in arrogance. The Hare was so confident that he would win, he decided to take a nap lol. Wrong move, right? Finally, the hare awakes and saw that he slept longer than he expected, he started to run toward the finish line, but it was too late the tortoise had won the race. So, the moral of the story is do not be over-confident and prideful in your abilities humble yourself. Slow and steady wins the race. You may not go at the speed as others, just run the race at your own speed. Be yourself and finish the year strong. That is what my fresh start will look like. Well, Happy New Year!

What Everyone Should Do In 2021
It’s that time again. Time for the calendars to change. Time for everyone to start thinking about what they’ll change about themselves. Time for them to follow through with their resolutions...for about a week. Then, it’ll be time for them to throw out the list and/or put it off until next year.

The Power Of Mantras
The word “mantra” is derived from an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “to think.” In some cultures, a mantra is a specific type of sound, chant, or word used to center the mind during meditation. But in the western world, it’s come to mean a phrase that captures a specific belief or philosophy.
