Mother's Room
The keyhole glowed with an unforgiving darkness, Gina thought as she tried to peer through it. Or perhaps it was only the darkness filling the hall that made it so. As she stared at it, she almost believed it to be growing larger, and larger. Like a gaping mouth ready to consume her. The voices filtering through from the other side of the shadowed door only made the keyhole seem more ominous to her seven-year-old mind. And yet, she could not help but creep closer, and peer more intently through this small window to the other side.

Absolute
“The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. None knew why or how. Wizards and philosophers of all sorts took to studying the phenomena. They asked the important questions and explored every manner of text. No answers could be found. No spell could reverse the river’s new course.

The Navigator's Blessing
Fog drifted ominously along the tide, churning only slightly at each passing wave. A silver light cast strange shadows beneath the looming cliffs as the moon revealed itself between the wisping clouds. Both mist and shadow avoided the rocky coast, pushed aside by the violent crashing of the relentless waves.

Marked
Arryn clung to the thin rail of the ship desperately. The wood was slicked wet from the dense clouds, making any sort of grip next to impossible. Her feet had already slipped twice, and she trembled from fear of falling. There was nothing below her except open air, and, she assumed, a certain death. They were too high up and the clouds too thick for her to tell whether they flew over land or sea, but neither would kill her kindly.

Are You Being Loved and Hating it?
I can see the fear in her eyes as I descend the staircase toward her, arms outstretched. I'm smiling and calling her name, but she's cowering. As I draw close, she tries to become one with her bed, trying desperately to become as small as possible. Or perhaps, better yet, invisible.

The Return of the Defenders
It was getting late. Though the sky displayed a myriad of colour, with the growing shadows came a sense of foreboding. A nervous hush fell upon the forest, the only movement coming from the wind blowing through the leaves, and the day-dwellers scurrying for sanctuary. It had been this way for as long as Gaeryll could remember.

The TARAZED
H grabbed hold of the bottom rung of the ladder, his fingers threatening to slip free due to the sweat and blood coating them. He could feel the essence that was space wrap around him as the pod from The TARAZED lifted further away from the transport train they had boarded. It was an odd sensation, but one that wouldn’t kill him. Not quickly, anyway.
