urban legend
Urban legends have captivated us from ancient eras to the modern day; a deep dive into scary lore and 'could be true' tales about Bigfoot, Slender Man, the Suicide Forest and beyond.
The Ghoulish Man
09/03/2021 The Ghoulish Man Someone stole my friend. There was a village by the sea. In the village was a house, that everyone knew about. In that house was a man who was hardly a man and more of a creature. Nobody knew his name, just his nature. Nobody knew if he had a face because nobody had ever returned to tell of seeing it.

Chivalry
Some people swore that the house was haunted. We believed it. Set far back on the property, at the end of a drive long since broken up into weeds and gravel, the place had been abandoned about forever. Three stories proud when built, decades of weather and neglect had brought sagging and collapse. Now it seemed hunched over, like a kicked dog, black windows bared like fangs, challenging anyone to approach. Because it was that kind of night, the door opened as we pulled up, slow as a death rattle and just far enough to make you wonder if it was the wind.

Landlord's Tale
I started having trouble remembering things after finding the bag, but I do remember coming straight home. This must be my lucky day. I don't think I've been this excited my entire life. Perhaps I'll go have some fun at the racetrack tomorrow once I sleep off this headache. I wish my dear Monica was still alive. Oh, how she loved her a good horse race.

The Shaper
“This is wrong and I’m gonna destroy it.” That was what I should have said when Stella and I found The Shaper’s notebook. It was no bigger than a card you would receive on Christmas. The leather was so soft I thought it was velvet when I swiped it. It could get lost in any bookshelf.

Haunted Transylvania
Transylvania has become a well-known name and everyone knew it was in Romania. This was due to the story of Dracula, to the stories of the actual so-called Dracula Vlad the Impaler and of course, due to all the Hollywood movies about the blood-sucking demon. However, if you think you'll visit Romania and travel to Transylvania to come face to face with the actual Dracula you might be disappointed. Instead, try roaming about Translyvania and you could meet up with plenty of ghostly apparitions and you might even get scared to death.

Cookie's Diner
Escaping the chaos of midday interstate traffic, Maggie left the freeway at the next opportunity, coincidentally leading to a small town she had seen the name of many times in her travels through but never visited, though she had often been curious. A brief grumble from her stomach insistently reminded her she was late for her own lunch, so she began scoping the signs sparsely placed along the edge of the road, obviously for the sake of hungry tourists passing through. The first place she spotted was a small diner, not much larger than a convenience store, its sign almost missable, with its red letters sun-faded to near invisibility on the peeling white background.
