Damned at Sea
Mr. Larry Wilson stood on deck staring out at the dark sea. The moonlight reflected itself across the surface of the vast body of water shimmering like sprinkles of gold glitter dust. Empty. Straight ahead lays emptiness, the single thought registered in Wilson’s mind.

Fertilizer
Axel Kerodon spent the majority of his retirement in his relaxed nook, the front porch, watching dogs chase passing cars and neighbors stroll by while he packed and lit his pipe and rocked back and forth on the oak rocking chair he hand-crafted. Everyday was just about the same, he would leave only for three things: to use the restroom, to water the lawn by hand, or to do a chore for a dark noon hen.

Testing Predictions on an Abandoned Village
Haley Riot pulled on the purple musical note attached to the retractable band around her neck. The networker designed to look like two beamed eighth notes brought life a three-dimensional map of their position in the woods. Beside the map were a few postings and news clippings about the Babylon Sisters Village. Some of the posts talked of treasure, murder, and ghosts but offered no evidence other than stories of people going missing who explored the area.

Tangle With the 'Squatch
When I’m out on a “hunt” I try to take notes of things I see that strike me. I got a hot tip that back in the 70’s this one small lake up in the coastal mountains of Oregon was a hotbed of howling, footprints and other Sasquatch activity.

9 Superstitions and Their History
Everyone knows and/or believes in superstitions, but do you know where they came from? If you don’t, no worries. Not a lot of people do. Hell, I didn’t either until I started doing research for my podcast. (All Things Creepy wherever you listen to podcasts, if you’re interested.) So here are some well-known and not-so-well-known superstitions and their history.

Vine
The sun peeked over the morning hills. Manny Panbroke's coffee maker was hissing and sputtering coffee into his cup. A fine, reassuring sound, he thought. Manny rustled the newspaper at the table, glancing over his shoulder at the kitchen door. Try to keep the sounds down, he thought. This was his time alone.

Black Book of Death
Yasmine Mitchell was not superstitious. She didn’t believe in much besides her will to live and her strength to overcome everything she had been through. See, there’s this story about Yasmine. I will take it from the top so you can better understand her and where her curiosity begins and her tactful niche for detecting bad vibes ends with The Little Black Book.

The Legendary Witch Who Froze To Death
Cold temps are fast approaching and the residents of Leonardtown, Maryland know that this can only mean one thing, that along with the freezing rain and snow, the curse of Moll Dyer will cast a dark shadow over the town's people yet once again. In 1697, Moll Dyer, a woman accused of being a witch simply because she survived the bitter cold without so much as a sniffle while most of the town's people were suffering from famine, hunger, disease, and eventually death, was forced from her only shelter and thrown out into the zero degree temps with only the rags on her back.

The Wendigo
The Wendigo When one thinks of a Wendigo, your first thought may go directly to the Supernatural episode, if you are a fan, where Sam and Dean help the girl find her brother. Or, if you are a gamer, your mind may go to the game Until Dawn, where you are being hunted by a Wendigo. Or you may just think cannibalism. Whatever the case may be Wendigo’s are fearsome, terrifying creatures who hunt their pray with no mercy.

The Sea of Trees
Startled by a single thud of turbulence, Sean Crawford awoke from his nap aboard Takai Airlines, flight 672. Taking a moment to collect himself, he looked out the window. Peering out into the expanse, Sean thought that the layer of clouds looked like a rough ocean that the plane was flying just above. Thoughts like these had entertained him his whole life. Nothing can keep a man occupied like a wandering mind, especially on a 13 hour flight from JFK to Narita Airport in Tokyo.

A Light in the Attic
Many years ago when I was in my teens, my family moved to Meriden, Connecticut, from New Hampshire. We moved into a house and lived on the second floor, where I could get an excellent view of a huge mansion sitting on a hill further up the street. I remember looking out of my bedroom window one night just before going to bed and noticed a light coming from the attic of the mansion. I never really paid much attention to what was across the street until that one night when I saw that light.
