That was more than 900 years ago and since then he has trudged on making life miserable for the adventurers down in the valley. It is true, the king wronged him. Kept his daughter from the mole, then lied about it. Their story is one of the cruelty of power, the frailty of fathers.

When a 13-year-old Anjali's father told her that they'll be going to Shimla for vacation, she was filled with happiness and was very excited about the trip. No secret places, no escape from the village of Greendale. Quaint two-story houses, with useless empty backyards; corner shops with abhorrent prices; sprawling flat fields, filled with ankle-high grass. Nothing else to use but the streets. I can see him, twisting under the manhole covers and mashing through the slender pipes beneath, to reach into our lives. No need to creep in the night or slink past the residents of Greendale during the day. He watches us, always.
